Call me, Luigi, cuz I successfully fixed our first clogged guest toilet. Did I keep my cool? No, no I did not LOL. The real and less-than-pretty side of owning a hospitality business involves some dirty biz indeed—bussing tables, doing laundry, and cleaning bathrooms. But we’re here for it.

While construction is finally done and we moved in about 2 weeks ago, we’re exhausted, sick with colds, and there’s still so much left to do. But! We are so happy in our new home after so much hard work and waiting and enjoying every second of it.

We have found after 15 years that remaking, redefining, and reinventing a home (and perhaps ourselves?) is a ton of work, let alone a new business in that very home in a shared space. But we’re getting there! The guest rooms and dining room are getting closer, but there are so many details we want to get right. So come along with us, lovely followers, on this wild new journey, and stay tuned for more!

I can’t believe we’re almost done. 15 years in the making.

What a night and day transformation, thanks to King and Sons Excavating. We went from a wild, scrubby hill to a beautiful homestead in a matter of 6 months. We are so grateful for all their hard work 👏 The landscaping will be a huge WIP so stay tuned.

Nearly done! Just need to do carpet, knobs, window screens, cleaning, and inspections.

2025 was quite a year. We started building our dream home, our old farm dog Whiskey passed away, we got a new truck!, we got more trees planted (Sequoia and Grand Fir), and as usual we took plenty of hikes. Here’s to 2026 👏

My all-time favorite chore is tree planting. And I got another 100 Grand Firs planted this week, just in time for the rain.
