STav 70,000 Followers!!

Felipe (@felipe_lima_mirror) here, writing what is probably the most meaningful post of my photographic journey.
Street Avengers turned 8 years old last month, and I was waiting for one very special milestone before sharing this message: 70,000 followers.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and believed in us since May 13th, 2018, when Street Avengers was born inside the Tate Modern in London, just after my very first visit to the museum (a place I would return to four more times over the years).
This post features some of my closest partners in this journey, along with friends who have left a lasting mark on the history of Street Avengers:

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all doing well.
Douglas Almeida (@bydouglasalmeida) here, bringing another tribute to our dear Geralda de Graaf (@geralda_de_graaf ).

Geralda was a co-founder of Street Avengers, and from the very beginning, she poured into this project not only her talent but also her soul, sensitivity, and love. Her presence lit up every idea, every conversation, every click.

Her inspiring eye lives on within us, guiding ours, reminding us to always seek the right light, the perfect moment, the image that speaks to the soul.

Geralda will remain with us in every photograph, in every detail captured from the heart.
She stays forever in our eyes and in our memories.

Hi everyone, @luana_lmartinez here proud to share the photographs that were exhibited by the Street Avengers’ at the @romephotolab Festival 2025. The Street Avengers collective exhibition shared its visual voices — thirteen members, thirteen ways of seeing, feeling, and belonging to the streets.

Curated by me & @tw.jonas , this exhibition is a celebration of encounters, chaos, silence, and the beauty that lives in between.

Today we honor the life and memory of our dear friend, artist, and co-founder of Street Avengers, Geralda de Graaf.

Geralda was not only a brilliant photographer with a unique vision, but also a wise, generous, and loyal friend. She was the balance and the heart of our collective from the very beginning, shaping Street Avengers into what it is today. Her art, her discipline, her kindness, and her wisdom will continue to inspire us every day.

For us, it was an immense honor and joy to have walked alongside her in this journey — as partners in Street Avengers, and as friends. The world of photography and the arts has lost a giant, and we, her friends, will forever feel her absence.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences go to her husband Koos, her son, and family.
Geralda, thank you for everything. You will never be forgotten.❤️

Guys, @felipe_lima_mirror here, with @evaelisabethanne and @luana_lmartinez representing all the members and friends of Street Avengers, to announce that our dear Geralda @geralda_de_graaf has passed away. Geralda helped us found Street Avengers over 7 years ago and is by far the most consistent member in the Hub’s history, incredibly disciplined. As a friend, Geralda was a great mentor to me, with her enormous wisdom and diplomacy. She taught me so much about life and human relationships. She was always very kind and accommodating to me in my most difficult moments, and she offered a loyalty that becomes increasingly rare in an increasingly liquid world (just like my hermana Eva @evaelisabethanne, both since the beginning). As an artist, I love her BW poems and it was a great influence for me when I looking for my way in photography.
The balace and the heart of Street Avengers will never be forgotten. Heel erg bedankt for everything Hermana, see you soon 🥋❤️ (Felipe).

Geralda and I had known each other for many years, and she was a dear friend. I sometimes called her “the wisdom” of our group - always present, always fair.
There are souls who leave a trail of light wherever they go. Geralda was one of them : gentle, wise, weaving beauty into the world naturally.
She offered her words, her photography, her collage creations like a philosophy of life.
Today, she has left us - far too soon.
She leaves behind the hearts of those who love her, a presence that will never fade”(Eva).

“I had the joy of meeting Geralda in person on September 23, 2022, at the Uppsala Foto Festival, a gathering of talented photographers from around the world. I was the newcomer, and she was one of the featured artists I deeply admired. It was September 23 of 2022, the second day for the festival, she walked into the venue where my exhibition was, and it felt surreal. Geralda, warm and kind, said, “Let’s take a photo together so I can send it to my friend Felipe.” She asked my phone number, sent me the picture, and made that moment unforgettable. I will always cherish it ❤️” (Luana).

STav - 7 years (Part TWO)

Guys, this is @felipe_lima_mirror here. Keep going together with my fellow @soniasimbolo thar posted hours ago: today we are turning 7 years old! I told the story behind the STav’s beginning sometimes: on this day I was inside at the Tate Modern (London) for the first time looking for the same light & shadow (and frame) shooted by Alan Schaller ((his classic picture of Tate Modern) and that changed my life forever. Right aftet that I invited my dear friend @dacliks, my loves @evaelisabethanne and @geralda_de_graaf and more three friends (Gert “The Kanzler”, John Castillo & Eliana Pesenti) and so Street Avengers started it. We crossed a lot of things, members came, members has gone, 4 contests, the networking with other fantastic hubs and collectives and the pure gold: the opportunity to know the work of many incredible photographers around the world (including many of STav members).
I would like to thank all the hubs/collectives friends and all we’ve been promoting together. A special thanks for my dear mates on STav, working together to do a high class curatorship and you all that makes our journey possible.

Here comes a special selection of STav members. I say it “special” because I have an effective memory with mostly of the pictures I’ve selected to celebrate our birthday and others I felt in love immediately (congratulations for us guys, beyond the curatorship I admire you so much as the fantastic artists you are ❤️💪). I really hope you enjoy it friends!
