Happy Monday EBBs The change of season is here with a new crispness to the morning air! We are back today with our Monday threesome of thoughts and tips. 1. Protect their Lungs As the colder weather arrives and sniffles become rife, we spend more time indoors. But before lighting that pumpkin-spiced candle or reaching for extra-scented fabric conditioner, think twice! 🕯️ Fragranced products can release pollutants and irritants into your home, affecting indoor air quality and have been linked to childhood asthma. 🌿 Keep it simple, ventilate where possible and think of those little lungs! If you do want some extra scent use natural essential oils we love the candles from @DOOK a local Edinburgh entrepreneur too! 2. Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo Did you know Edinburgh Zoo have a new Parent Social? The next one is on Thursday 22nd October 11am and is aimed at the parents with babies 6-12 months. Such agreat way to get out of the house, meet other parents and enjoy one of Edinburgh’s most fabulous attractions. 3. He’s Behind You! Whether it’s the Panto or the Ballet, having a baby doesn’t mean you cant enjoy these shows anymore. Check out Festival Theatres Relaxed Performances. These are not just for those with additional support needs but can be great for new parents or if you have small children (or both). They don’t mind if you make a noise, often have different lighting and have any big noises reduced or removed. You can also borrow a set of ear defenders for little ears from the first floor of the theatre just ask staff for help That’s it for this week, enjoy snuggling into your winter woollies – remember your baby needs only one more layer than you and as you go inside and take your coat off, do the same with the pram suits for your little one Have a Happy & Healthy Week The EBB Team x

Small business visibility without a bonkers budget..how to conquer it…? 🧐🧐 This isn’t just for Cub & Pudding - it’s for all of us small brands with next to no teams, making & designing unique pieces that put the big brands in the shade 🙌🧡 We work super hard but it’s soooo bloomin tough spreading the word when Insta’s algorithm is sheer luck and the tinterweb audience is giiiinormous (plenty of customers to go round though 😊) I’d love to help organise SOMETHING for us to club together and share our wares - gimme alll the ideas 😘👍 Tagging some of my fave indie brands - do drop your faves in the comments too! 🧡🧡🧡🧡

A little introduction to DOOK 🫧 Handmade in small batches in Edinburgh, DOOK creates the most beautiful salt soaps, bath salts and skincare using plant-based ingredients and 100% essential oils. We love that they’re made not too far from us in Scotland, with so much care given to every product. Each soap is individually poured and wrapped by hand, and the range is vegan, palm-oil free and packaged using as little plastic as possible. The addition of salt helps the soaps produce a lovely lather, hold their beautiful natural fragrance and last longer too. They’re a small everyday luxury: gorgeous beside the sink, lovely to use and beautiful enough to give as a gift. Exactly the kind of thoughtful, well-made product we want to bring to Marilyn & Melrose. DOOK has just been unpacked and is our first new brand to Marilyn & Melrose. We use it in our own home and have gave so many dook gifts to friends and family already. #MarilynAndMelrose #DookOfEdinburgh #ScottishMade #HandmadeInScotland #IndependentBrands
