If we were to describe Anju, they’re a plethora of things. But for one, It’s like walking into a room during winter, feeling all warm and fuzzy knowing you’re in a safe space already.

Going through their photo gallery, in which, we were given the scope to do so — Anju is a collector of things that they find special. There’s also something about the way they narrate.

In collaboration with @vansmyofficial [Together In The Ether, Finally] — A special playlist dedicated to MulaZine by Anju is now live on our Spotify. Link in bio. #MulaZine #VansMalaysia

PRESENTING: ANJU FOR “IN THE ETHER, FINALLY”

MulaZine In Collaboration With Vans Malaysia in conjunction of Pride Month 2022. There is a romanticism in that, and a constant state of romanticism in everything that Anju and we are grappling to reach out, one that they are sure to find in the Ether.

When we asked @pertatos what it meant to be off the wall, they pursed their lips and giggled. It meant many things but for one, it really just meant going with the flow. As a multidisciplinary artist, Anju is many things but a romantic at heart. As captured here by their work, all the essences of it leads back to one place, the Ether, which is where they will be found.

“Together in the Ether, Finally” is a collaborative effort between MulaZine and Vans Malaysia, celebrating creators and creatives of varied backgrounds and identities.

📱Turn on your post notifications to see @pertatos explain what it means to them when their creating and being at peace this Saturday @ 930PM on our web. #MulaZine #VansMalaysia

I'm not gonna spam our collaborators every time with thank you's 🙈 but as this is our Malaysian premiere and our first award for 'Tadau om Vuhan Kopisoomo', we are elated!

This is a story that I felt strongly about, where I wanted to challenge notions of romantic love, but also love of country. It means everything to have not just an audience, but the appreciation for it. It only further strengthens my resolve to tell stories set in Borneo-Malaysia and to put a lens on unheard voices. It is our hope that it encourages other younger filmmakers to do the same. 💚

In the coming year, do watch out for our feature film set in Sabah, 'Wilderness' which is now in the works! Kiiiihoii!
