Since I Don't Have You - The Skyliners (Acoustic cover) by Johnny Alonso. I shot this 2 weeks ago in beautiful Mission Bay. I was going to shoot this in the parking lot of Bob's Big Boy in Burbank but just couldn't wait. It was close to midnight on a Monday nite when I decided to walk to Mission Bay to see how busy it was. Bayside was empty which is the perfect setting for any of my outdoor solo acoustics. About 200 yards ahead are beach/bay homes so I had to keep it low, but I had this great idea of opening the song with one of the bridges instead of how the song originally begins and of course the bridge is sung loudly. I hoped to get thru it without seeing people peer thru their windows or come out of their homes to see what the hell was going on. Once I felt like the coast was clear i ran thru the song and grabbed this in one take. Here's some trivia, I met Jimmy Beaumont the singer of The Skyliners a few years ago after a show he had in Las Vegas. He told me the trick to singing this song was to hit the lower notes between the notes in the sustain. Its not easy to find those notes but when yo do it sounds so good. Here's my acoustic cover of the great 50's love song classic Since I Don't Have You by The Skyliners. #SinceIDontHaveYou #TheSkyliners #lovesong #50sClassic #MissionBay
