We drove to our favourite "bouncy forest" in Dartmoor ( because the moss allowed you to bounce and leap across the forest). Walked over many fallen trees until we found a perfect spot where two trees standing had the right distance between them to allow me to create a sculpture. The process of collecting the fallen branches was our first step, as well as clearing the desired spot. The actual making of the piece involved a bit of teamwork and a lot of standing back and assessing the situation. This first peice just consisted of leaning and weaving the branches against each other until they became freestanding. The work itself is still reflecting the sacred circle, as well as process of the repetitive nature that can create mindfulness and most importantly the childlike wonder of coming across something like this in the woods and making it your own sacred space. The location maps are provided so you yourself can go on your own adventure, to find my sculpture or perhaps be inspired to do something similar in your desired 'sacred space' #sacredspace #sacredgeometry #sacredcircle #landart #dartmoor #bouncyforest #art #graduateshow #adventure #processess #mindfulness
