Scenes from the 2026 Vancouver Scripted Summit.

Vancouver Scripted Summit brings together BC screenwriters, producers and industry leaders with Canadian and US executives and buyers, for a day of panels, roundtables, meetings and networking centred on Canadian scripted content. We had a great time last week at the SFU Segal Building connecting with our industry.

A sincere thank you to our Summit sponsors — @the_cmpa, Rogers Group of Funds, @Blink49Studios, @CreativeBCs, Bell Fund, @Independent.Production.Fund, @Nationalbankofcanada, Chandler Fogden Lyman Entertainment Law, and the @writers_guild_of_canada — for their support.

This holiday season RavenSong has a small video to share ❤️

An Indigenous film student at @capilanou created a short-video for us. Deep gratitude for @doreen.manuel and the IDA program without it, we could have not grown through innovation without the program.

More to come soon #RavenSong #RavenSongSoap #IndigenousBC #HaidaGwaii

This year on Orange Shirt Day, Between the Lines encourages actively joining the fight against genocide, land theft, and the ongoing colonial project of Canada. Reconciliation is an empty call. We must refuse this erasure and centre the movements, uprisings, and vitality of Indigenous leadership.

Three books from Between the Lines cut through Canada’s myths and document Indigenous resistance and survival:

— When the Pine Needles Fall: the first-hand account of the 1990 siege at Kanehsatà:ke and Kahnawà:ke, told by Katsi’tsakwas Ellen Gabriel, the Kanien’kehá:ka spokesperson who stood against the Canadian army;
— Mohawk Warrior Society: the first anthology to uncover the suppressed history of Kanien’kehá:ka self-defense and militant land protection and the foundational writings of Louis Karoniaktajeh Hall;
— From Brotherhood to Nationhood: the definitive biography of George Manuel, a revolutionary leader who carried Indigenous resistance onto the global stage.

These books are weapons against forgetting, tools for organizing, and important touchstones in the fight ahead. Learn more about each book on our website.

The countdown is on!

We’re thrilled to announce that our new short film, E.V. Savage, is premiering at the @imaginenative 25th Anniversary Festival!

Catch the screening Friday, June 6th at 4 PM ET at the TIFF Lightbox Theatre in Toronto, as part of the iN Originals Program.

Raised in isolation by murderous, loving criminals, Evie Savage runs away in search of something better. She’d kill for a normal life.
A gritty coming-of-age story with heart, rage, and just the right amount of violence.

Not in Toronto? You can still catch E.V. Savage online through imagineNATIVE’s digital platform, streaming June 9–15.

To our cast, crew, and community — we couldn’t have done it without you.

Tag a friend, share the news, and help us celebrate Indigenous cinema.

Feeling incredibly proud to have mentored this year’s 2024–2025 cohort of Indigenous Digital Filmmaking students at Capilano University. These students have grown so much in their craft—directing, shooting, storytelling—and it’s clear they are the future leaders of cinema.

Their work will be showcased at the 2025 IDF Gala Screening
April 25 | 2–5 PM
Bosa Theatre, Capilano University
Reception to follow

If you’re in the area, show up and support these emerging voices! They’ve put their hearts into these films. You won’t want to miss what they’ve created.
