Petty flex: we wrote an entire cookbook, and it’s called 100 Super Secret Vegan Recipes, and yes, the secrets are now very much not secret. You’re welcome.

That 2015 book was us handing over the actual recipes, the ones from the actual case, so our stuff never really has to disappear even when the shop does. Sneaky, right?

💔 After 24 years of changing the vegan dessert game, @eatstickyfingers is closing its doors.

Founded in 2002 as one of the country's very first fully vegan bakeries, the Washington, DC institution spent more than two decades proving that plant-based cupcakes, cakes, cinnamon rolls, and pastries could win over anyone—skeptics included. Along the way, it earned two Cupcake Wars titles and became a beloved destination for vegan comfort food.

Sticky Fingers' final day will be August 2, so there's still time to stop by for one last treat and celebrate a bakery that helped shape the modern vegan food movement.

Okay, deep breath. Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats is closing. Our last day is Sunday, August 2. (I’ve rewritten this sentence about ten times trying to make it hurt less. It doesn’t.)

Here’s where it all started: 2002, one of the first fully vegan bakeries in the entire country. People thought we were nuts. “Vegan cupcakes? That taste good?” Yeah. Yeah they do. We spent the next two decades proving it, one skeptical bite at a time.

Twenty four years, two Cupcake Wars trophies, and enough birthday cakes to fill a bakery case the size of Texas. This is where I wanted this whole goodbye to start, because it’s where the whole thing started too.

11 days left. Come get your favorite one more time. Bring a friend who’s never tried us, we’ll turn them too. Follow along over the coming weeks as we revisit some of our favorite moments, treats, and share more about the amazing new (vegan!) business taking over the space.
