At one of the shows I met a photographer who said "Thank you for making me think slowly". This is one of my goals in setting the atmosphere of 'Anatomy of (un) Holding'. The possibility to go into details and be touched by them, not to feel the FOMO that goes hand in hand with us these days.
Just allowing ourself to be in the moment.
At the last show at Schiedam @richard_beukelaar_photography observed, took pictures. After I saw his physicality during the session I knew he was searching for a specific poetic moments. His words were as if he was having an internal conversation with the details of the body and the flesh. Such a sharpness that immediately softens the heart.
Thanks!

A year and a half ago I was marking the floor. This was the starting point in the first rehearsal of ‘Anatomy of (un) Holding’.
Now in the studio ,the physical structures, the atmosphere of ‘singular moment’ time zone have their own heart and story to tell each time.
After an Israeli premiere, yesterday we had an Dutch premiere.
The dialogue with the audience after the performance is my favourite part. Hearing how they pealed personal ’holding’ layers, giving-in to the rhythm, how an old-new memory resurfaced and their curiosity about the process.
Rotem and I went home with high on adrenaline and great gratitude.

Dank je wel for that!!

Soon more to come..

Anatomy of (un) Holding

On the floor, a body, woman
Falling, folding, laying, exists.
The body makes space for what is perceived as invisible.
This work is a common space to slow down and ask-
Is the silent or the inanimate are real?
The gaze is invited to listen to the shapes, Allow the shivering to reverberate in the eyes,
Spending time in muscular-emotional thoughts about when and what we hold on to?

Choreography by Shani Bar Dimri
Dancer: Rotem Greenberg
Light and Sound design: Omer Boulanger Cohen
Dramaturge: Doron Gllia-Kind
