One week of music in Ibiza 🌤️💜

A few days ago, I had the chance to join the @el_tony_mate Producer Academy for a whole week in Ibiza. For most of us, this island is a dream destination, and this week felt like a little dream come true for me.

I shifted my project towards electronic and house music in January, and moments like this make me even more confident in my choice.

We had such a lovely time producing, talking and having fun with all these talented people @djwifixx @santhiago.wav @dot5.project @caridino @matswestbroek @miladietrichmusic @schwarzwiss and our amazing coaches @kidsimius @skalared thanks to all of them for everything! 🫂

Thanks also to our amazing chefs @marco_herrmann1 and @katja_schlegel1107 you made us feel at home ✨

Thanks to the incredible media team @jess.mawi @martinfabiio @darioheeb @yannick_sutter @zoomer.agency for capturing every single moment of the week.

Big thank you to @francescomonti.ofc from @metricaibiza for the time we spent in your office lol.

And of course, thanks to @sendreturn.agency and @el_tony_mate for the opportunity, and to @ralphsendreturn @lauravesti @manuelmorenomusic @nelle.ofc @malenaweit for believing in us! @beatport @el_tony_mate_fr @el_tony_mate_es

Can’t wait to show you what we started together,
And can’t wait to see you all again,
My friends 🥹

Goed nieuws!

@el_tony_mate Producer Academy, part two.
A full week in Ibiza, and I’m proud and grateful to have worked with so many talented people.

A huge thank you for letting @lauravesti , @ralphsendreturn and me organize this together with El Tony Mate.
A special thank you goes to Ellen @nelle.ofc for the great and easy collaboration, and for the really good time we had together.

Spending time with young talents, friends and partners in Ibiza was truly inspiring. We learned a lot, shared ideas, launched, talked and created together, from the Metrica Studios to the Ibiza Sonica radio show. A week full of music, crowd and good vibes. Love it.

Thanks to the coaches @skalared & @kidsimius for your commitment and your knowledge, and thanks to @zoomer.agency
And a big thank you to Marco and Katja for the amazing hospitality and the really good food. You made sure we felt great all day long.

My appreciation goes out to the lovely team of @el_tony_mate 💜 just came back from an incredible week of teaching music production on Ibiza and it really inspired me as a musician again. My partner in crime for the week @kidsimius and I did workshops around field recording, sound design, live sets and also spoke a lot about having a career in the music industry, the struggles that come with it, how to beat producer block and to find your way in this job that truly feels like you. Thanks José for being such a lovely person and co-teacher this week 🫂

There were so many talented producers from all kinds of electronic music genres, amazing food by Marco and Katja every single day and a lovely team from the production. So thanks a lot also to @sendreturn.agency with Manuel, Ralph and Laura and the amazing film/social media crew @martinfabiio @darioheeb @yannick_sutter and @jess.mawi 💜🙏

Thanks also to @metricaibiza and Francesco for letting us play our productions on that nice sound system!

I also recorded a few samples myself especially with the Tr1000 and can‘t wait to use these in the studio!

💜💜💜

This week’s HEATWAVE mix is by @dot5.project 🔥 DJ and Producer DOT5 was born in Switzerland, now based in Amsterdam. His musical journey started with the piano, but through experimenting with his own interpretations and compositions, he gradually found his way into producing (electronic) music. From there, he discovered dance music and DJing by experiencing nightlife culture. Not only the music, but also the spaces and people fascinate him. Over time, he realized that DJing was an art form in its own right.

His sound has evolved a lot over the past year, going from more mainstream sounds to what he now likes to interpret as minimal, with influences ranging from deep & tech house to techno. DOT5 found himself liking tracks and sets that combine stripped back functionality with warm and moody touches, letting the selection dictate the energy. Less is more is a term he tries to adhere to not only in DJing, but also while producing.
