In the latest episode of my podcast @seethroughthebigc we hear from @bexyjharrison her brother following his cancer diagnosis.

This episode shines a light on the often unseen reality of caring for someone you love — the emotional weight, the shifting family dynamics and the strength it takes to keep going.

When a sibling is diagnosed, life can feel “turned upside down almost overnight,” with a mix of worry, uncertainty and love shaping each day.

Becky’s story is honest, raw and incredibly important .

Last week our students visited Woburn Safari Park for an exciting photography experience! 📸🦁

As part of their project, they:
• Researched their chosen animal
• Tracked it down on the day
• Gave it a full photoshoot 🐾
• And will soon be learning how to edit their shots back in class

We’re so proud of the focus, creativity, and effort shown throughout! 👏

Podcast recording day of @seethroughthebigc

I absolutely loved spending my morning with these 2 fabulous people @tinklinlincolnthemaestro and @mandycolby.

The conversations I have with people on the podcast like Lincoln and Mandy are so personal and intimate, yet I feel so grateful and fortunate that people are able to share their story with me to help support or educate others in society.

Both trusted me to share their story of not only supporting someone loved with cancer before the passed away but their own personal story aswell.

For Lincoln this is his wife Anne-Marie and for Mandy her mum Hillary.

I have known Lincoln and Mandy for years. Both have openly supported myself, Lee and @thelewisfoundation but we have never had the chance to sit down and talk in this way. I feel so grateful to have this conversation so I got to know your both better and your drive for why you do what you to to help others. Thank you both I learnt a lot from you.

This podcast is such a beautiful project for me. I love connecting with people and sharing their story.

For me, it’s bringing all years of experiences of communication with victims and witnesses via my lawyer days in a new way to help others in a different format through cancer care.

Both episodes will be dropping within the next 2 weeks.

In the meantime, if you haven’t checked out the podcast you can do by heading to YouTube and searching ‘See Through The Big C’

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to listen, comment, share and subscribe - it means a lot to me to take these conversations from behind closed doors into the public arena.

Huge thank you to Joey and @dotmediauk for bringing this vision to life.

Recording Day today for my podcast @seethroughthebigc - every month I spend one day interviewing guests for the podcast, with a new episode released every Friday.

No questions or script sent in advance and no questions in an advance prepared by me. For me this about real honest conversation. No filtering or editing as it’s about hearing the reality of life following a cancer diagnosis.

Today, we had:

Hollie - @holscancerfight_ diagnosed with cervical cancer aged 31, which she discovered following the birth of her 6 month old baby. She shares so many things such as telling your children you have cancer, the importance of attending a cervical screening and the perceptions of society for someone diagnosed with cancer so young. Now Hollie has created a fantastic set of journals check out @chemoandco with all info/tips following diagnosis.

@purpose_cultivator - who is now 11 years cancer free following being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in her home country, where she was told she had 6 months to live. Eye opening of the cost of affording treatment, which if you can’t afford then there is no free healthcare and therefore no treatment. Joanne shares the power of the community around her that supported her through this time.

Tracey Hamilton - diagnosed with breast cancer, Tracey despite being diagnosed with cancer continued to work and look after others via her incredible work @springcharityventure . before herself as her way to get through what was happening. We talk about matters such as the importance of speaking to others, self care and finding purpose. It is always a joy to be in Tracey’s company.

People ask how I cope with conversations like this?

For me, I love sharing stories and every story enriches, inspires or educates me in some way that I don’t see it as negative but as a positive way to help not only the person being interviewed but anyone who is listening.

You can watch an episode in full by heading to YouTube (don’t forget to subscribe) or listening on Spotify and searching ‘See Through The Big C’

Thank you to @dotmediauk for making this possible ❤️
