DSRPT.: What’s your favorite fashion trend at the moment and is there one piece in your wardrobe that feels like your signature?

Dom Belli: My favorite fashion piece right now would have to be the 3/4th cut jorts, the sweats. That’s like my favorite thing to throw on but not the under the knee, the 3/4th ones, like they lowkey like a capri, but a little bit above type sh*t, that’s my favorite thing to throw on right now for sure. I think a low rise jean would have to be my favorite (fashion trend) like I love a low rise jean.

DSRPT.: It looks like you’re entering a new chapter in your life, what kind of energy is coming with you in this era?

Dom Belli: Just enlightened, more growth, more clarity. Even though I’m guarded, I’m still open to love, still open to life, still open to everything that God wants for me. I would just say, clarity and a better version of myself.

when I got my laptop in hand I mean business lol. for this shoot with Kenyon I wanted to embrace his own personal style while still being able to set multiple scenes through the lens of the singles that had been released thus far. I was really just thinking a cool, calm LA vibe with a touch of new age R&B while giving that 70’s essence of old school R&B. and once again the team came together and made it happen. thank you to each and everyone one of you that made this cover what it is. issue 30 cover star DSRPT. x @kennygotsoul out now. 🙏🏾

DSRPT.: Give us 3 songs from your catalog that introduce who Kenyon Dixon is today, 2 songs you wish more people talked about, and 1 song you’ll never get tired of performing.

Kenyon Dixon: Three songs that introduce Kenyon Dixon, “Marvin Gaye”. I do think that's the epitome, like the smoothness but modern approach that I bring to R&B. “Love On Replay”is another one, feature my homegirl Tiffany Gouché, that'll go down as like a classic, it already has in my catalog. Third song I would say, I'm gonna go “Can I Have This Groove”because that one really pays homage to my inspirations. Two songs I wish more people would talk about, I have a song called “Love Away” that's on my deluxe version of my album Closer. That's a that's a jam, it's a real vibe, I think that's one. And it's probably my fault because I never performed the record, even I didn't give it much attention but I think it deserves it. Another one for me would be, there’s a record I have called “Freaky”, it was a part of the expansion of my album, The R&B You Love, this one was called The R&B Love: For the ‘99 and the 2000s, so it was like late 90s, early 2000s and there’s a record on there called “Freaky” and that's like, it taps into my music production and writing influences. One record I’ll never get tired of performing, ironically, I'm going to say “Lucky” because we go to church at the end of that record so that really gives me my church kid fix and my fan base, they're like me, they're a lot of church kids. So we really have a moment where it's like, that's one of those moments that reminds you how powerful what you do is because that's a different level of connection that only they can understand if you've had that black church experience.
