We came up with a concept inspired by a childhood friend to do a listening party of albums that inspired us. So of course I decided to do Illmatic by @nas first. At @nogreasepremium Art is huge focal point. We commissioned a mural created by the great @wollyv and @marcus_kiser. And our design team created portraits of Nas, Jay Z, Nipsey, and Biggie. I selected them not just because of their music, but their entrepreneurial mindset.

My teammates @alluneedis1_mic (Host) and @doublek130 (DJ) and I did an excellent job preparing. We learn so much about the album we didn’t know. We did trivia, gave out prizes, and had a cypher at the end. As a result, all the feedback we received was everyone had a great time. Including 6 individuals that wasn’t connected to me or anybody connected to No Grease. They happen to find the event online. Which is dope because I’m always thinking of ways to expose people to our business so we can continue to gain market share. The tickets we sold will be used to buy toys for kids.

Shout out to my support partners @ellelynette (Caterer) and @shaybaybe06 (Shay’s Bartending School) for doing an excellent job serving our guest. And @digidreams.ig @micahtheartis (Video Team)

Next we are thinking about doing Jay Z Reasonable Doubt with maybe a special guest like @skibeatz or a Tribe Call Quest Low End Theory. #nogreasebarbershop #nogreasenorthlake #northlakemall #nogreasepremium #thebestbarbershopincharlotte #hiphop #nas #illmatic #jayz #tribecalledquest #reasonabledoubt
