Synopsis:
Substitute Soul Reaper Ichigo Kurosaki spends his days fighting against Hollows, dangerous evil spirits that threaten Karakura Town. Ichigo carries out his quest with his closest allies: Orihime Inoue, his childhood friend with a talent for healing; Yasutora Sado, his high school classmate with superhuman strength; and Uryuu Ishida, Ichigo's Quincy rival. Ichigo's vigilante routine is disrupted by the sudden appearance of Asguiaro Ebern, a dangerous Arrancar who heralds the return of Yhwach, an ancient Quincy king. Yhwach seeks to reignite the historic blood feud between Soul Reaper and Quincy, and he sets his sights on erasing both the human world and the Soul Society for good. Yhwach launches a two-pronged invasion into both the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo, the home of Hollows and Arrancar. In retaliation, Ichigo and his friends must fight alongside old allies and enemies alike to end Yhwach's campaign of carnage before the world itself comes to an end.

Since y’all loved seeing one of my animation classes experience this for the first time, here’s another class’s reaction!

Also, the official @digimonanimeofficial calling my students the “new DigiDestined” absolutely made my day 😂

For everyone asking: this is a high-school animation class with a custom curriculum I’ve built around animation history, analysis, and hands-on technical skills in programs like After Effects and Adobe Animate. On selected screening days, Digimon Adventure is one of the animated works we watch and discuss — and the students have been loving the journey.

And yes 😂, we’re watching the English dub. It’s the version I grew up with and personally wanted to share, but there’s an educational reason too: I have students with different reading abilities, so using the dub keeps these screening/discussion days accessible to everyone. If you love the Japanese version and “Brave Heart,” I totally get it too!

I keep the specific school/location private for student privacy. ❤️

One of the coolest things about working a convention is sometimes meeting someone without knowing anything about their resume.

That was Doug Erholtz for me.

I had absolutely no clue what Doug had done in the industry when I met him at the airport. I just knew pretty quickly that he was good people. From that first meeting, to every interaction we had throughout the show, all the way to dropping him off when the weekend was over, he was just real, authentic and down to earth.

I still couldn’t tell you much about his body of work and honestly, I kind of like that. I got to know Doug the person before Doug the voice actor. No characters, credits or IMDb page attached. Just a genuinely good dude I enjoyed talking to and working with.

Sometimes that tells you more about somebody than their résumé ever could.

Glad our paths crossed this weekend, my friend!

Who’s ready for the conclusion of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War ?! It took some time, but we finally managed to meet the second voice behind Kisuke Urahara, Doug Erholtz ! Dude absolutely nailed the Bankai moment and it was so worth the wait ! During our chat, Doug told us how the process went down within the recording session which we’re so fascinated by. I hope after TYBW, the Hell arc finally gets off the ground running. 🗣️🎙️👻🗡️🪡
