Graduation started at 9. Abby calls at 8:56 stating she got drenched running in the rain before lining up and just realized she lost the heel off her shoe at some point. Her response to it all, “I’m so pumped, nothing is stopping me from taking this walk even going barefooted. I just wanted to give you a heads up.” The way you handled the hiccups of the morning made me even more proud of what the day represented. You didn’t let it steal your joy! It was to celebrate your dedication and hard work but the circumstances altered my focus to also celebrate who you have become especially your faith in adversity and your willingness to smile while rolling with the punches.
President Dr. Bullard said it best, “Abby, I want you to go out and continue to be the bright light that you truly are. Your personality shines brighter than your hair to set you apart so go out and be unequivocally and unapologetically you in a world that needs it”. 💯
Way to Rise and Shine baby girl! #beyoutiful #mygirl #classof2026
