Pantry on Prospect

Playful pops of colour, considered interiors and a pantry-to-plate philosophy.

Bespoke joinery puts the best of South Australian produce on show. A little POP of local flavour!

Our home is on @thedesignfiles 🥹

Four years of hunting, tweaking and procrastination went into these teeny 40m² in Bronte! It came together bit by bit, with lots of knick knacks picked up like a bowerbird at flea markets across the world.

Every piece has a story, from the 1960s sofa to the bespoke rug that runs up the wall into a headboard.

Swipe for the tour, full feature is over on @thedesignfiles

A refined palette of oyster marble, warm timber and softly textured finishes allows the materiality to become the defining feature of The Pearl. The exceptional craftsmanship and beautifully executed detailing celebrate the elegance found in restraint.

Expansive glazing welcomes the landscape into the home, enveloping the living spaces in greenery, while shifting natural light reveals new depth and character within the materiality throughout the day.

1950s beach house restoration, Northern NSW 🐚

Reworked the layout to improve functionality, create more privacy, and make better use of the space.

The brief was to keep the character of the home intact by retaining its age where possible, reusing what we could, sourcing vintage materials and furniture, bringing in more colour, and steering away from making it feel too polished.

Last photos are the before shots (you’ve been warned).

At the heart of the home, the living, dining and kitchen spaces of The Peach House are connected through a series of geometric forms and strategic portals that frame views both internally and out to the surrounding landscape.
A double-sided fireplace anchors the dining and living spaces, creating a shared focal point between the two rooms. More than simply a functional element, it acts as a threshold that strengthens the relationship between the spaces while allowing each to retain its own character. The adjoining firewood storage was carefully integrated into the design, because if you’re going to have a fireplace, the firewood deserves a seat at the dining table too 🔥
Throughout the home, geometry is used as a medium for connection. Familiar rural forms are reinterpreted through bold volumes, textural materiality and moments of spatial play, creating an interior that feels both grounded and unexpected. The architecture and interior design work in unison to blur the line between nature and home, with framed vistas and carefully considered sightlines creating a constant dialogue between inside and out.
The custom dining banquette, upholstered in fabric designed by Sydney artist @bernybacic , extends beyond the pill-shaped dining table, allowing the space to comfortably adapt from everyday family life to larger gatherings and long shared meals.

The skeletal structure underneath this tiled balustrade was almost a shame to cover up. 20x20 tiles seamlessly flow into perforated acoustically treated ceiling panels. Every surface was considered in the acoustic balance by @clairmar 📸 @jonathanvdk_studio

The Pearl began with the ambition to change the way the home felt to live in.

Within the existing footprint, enclosed rooms were opened to light, outlook and landscape. Thresholds softened and the relationship between old and new became more resolved, allowing the home to feel calmer, lighter and more intuitive in the way it moves.

A restrained palette of stone, oak and soft mineral finishes brings warmth and elegance throughout, while skylights and steel-framed glazing draw natural light deep into the home.

The result is a home that feels deeply personal and thoughtful in its restraint.

Next Friday, @levi_corby and I will be heading to the 2026 Gold Coast / Northern Rivers Regional Architecture Awards ~ feeling very grateful that Dolphin Court House is featured in the Residential Architecture – Houses (New) category.

It’s been incredibly special sharing our home over the past few weeks. What began as a deeply personal project for our family has sparked so many thoughtful conversations + kind messages from people who have connected with it in their own way.

To see the house recognised alongside so much thoughtful work from across the region honestly means a lot – particularly within a community of architects, designers and makers we admire so much.

Mostly, we’re just looking forward to a beautiful night celebrating great design and the people behind it ✨
