Finally got my feet in the wax of this 10’0 Downing shaped by Uncle George circa 1988! Without a doubt this board was made for Makaha and for size as big as you wanted to go, you can definitely see the lineage from the likes of ‘Pinky’ and ‘The Rocket’. Obviously there are some familiar similarity’s with today’s gliders, and I’d thought it would be fun to first take it out in all this fun town swell we’ve been having. Paired it up with my 9.5” HI Aspect fin from @true_ames, the narrow base, tall aspect, with some rake at the tip help free up the tail on these smaller waves. Now that I’ve got to feel it out, the board will get a mild restoration in preparation for some North swells…
