Some moments from the first few days of the 2026 Freedom Convoy USA: LA, Monument Valley, and some spots in between.

This journey is about people here at home. It’s about ordinary working class Americans. It’s about the parent who can’t afford childcare, the family that can’t afford a home, the person putting off healthcare because they can’t afford it, and communities struggling to maintain schools and infrastructure.

At the same time, the United States continues to commit billions of taxpayer dollars to military assistance for Israel. We’re asking a simple question: If America has the resources to spend billions on Israel, why are so many Americans being told that basic needs at home are unaffordable?

72% of Virginian Democratic voters believe Israel is committing genocide, but @rep_walkinshaw & @senatorwarner seem to care less. For 3 years their Virginia constituents have been asking them to stop funding genocide. Walkinshaw has even heard from Palestinian Americans who have lost family members b/c of bombs and missiles he votes for. Despite this, they refuse to support an arms embargo and/or H.R. 3565 "Block the bombs" & Senate Joint Resolution of Disapproval (JRD). While Walkinshaw launched an initiative to help Ukrainian children he votes to send bombs & munition to kill Palestinian & Lebanese children. To do this requires an unconscionable level of dehumanization of another group of human beings. Democrats think they are owed your vote- they aren't.

What happens when Lady Liberty carries a message you oppose?

Would you still call her freedom?
Would you still defend her?
Or would you scream at her... and threaten her into silence?

Freedom of speech isn’t measured by how we respond to voices we agree with.
It’s measured by how we respond to the voices that challenge us.

On the Fourth of July, I photographed Lady Liberty being led in chains down Pennsylvania Avenue toward the U.S. Capitol by an activist portraying Benjamin Netanyahu —a piece of protest theater questioning the relationship between Israel and American politics.

As tensions rose, police moved in beside the activists, forming a protective barrier as the crowd began to surround & follow them — shouting, and, in some instances, becoming physically aggressive.

The irony wasn’t lost on me.

If liberty only belongs to those we agree with...
Is it still liberty?
