We had a lovely and rare evening out to celebrate Kate and spoil her with some delicious dinner and shopping. Annie saw this cute photo op and we couldn’t resist a fall family photo. 🍁🍂🍃❤️

Rest in Peace Patricia Becker, also known as Pat, Grandma, Nana, Tinkerbell and Mom. Your huge incredible life was filled with people who loved you, were inspired by you, sometimes challenged by you but almost always in awe of you. You could make friends anywhere that you would go and were always up for a party. I thank you for many things but most of all, I thank you for bringing the love of my life into this world and for being such a wonderful Grandma/Tinkerbell to our girl and all of your grandkids. Peace be with you Pat always and forever 🙏❤️

At Harbor Island Studios, even the coffee setup has production design. Meet the hand-crafted, three-headed pour-over coffee monster: part caffeine delivery system, part industrial art object, and easily one of the geekiest coffee mechanisms we’ve ever seen. Handmade in Burien by Kirk Nordenstrom and his ingeniously crafty wife, Kasia — more Kasia than Kirk, truth be told — this is exactly the kind of weird, practical creativity we love. And for Seattle 48 Hour Film Project filmmakers: this Sunday, Harbor Island Studios will offer super-fast internet access to help teams get their films uploaded and turned in on time. Kirk may even hand-pour a cup of coffee for a few folks. Pour-over is kind of his superpower. create48.org 48hourfilm.com/seattle #CREATE48 #Seattle48HFP #48HourFilmProject #HarborIslandStudios #SeattleFilm #WashingtonFilm #CreativeEconomy #FilmProduction #CoffeeNerd #Makers #SeattleCreatives

This agreement helps preserve a critical regional production asset while advancing workforce pathways in King County’s creative economy. Kirk Nordenstrom and Kris Flink know this takes a village. CREATE48 is deeply grateful to County Executive Girmay Zahilay and his staff, Councilmembers Claudia Balducci and Teresa Mosqueda, the King County Film Advisory Board, and the many industry and community partners whose work continues to grow and strengthen our creative economy. The Seattle 48 Hour Film Project kickoff will be the first public-facing event at Harbor Island Studios under CREATE48’s management. It was an honor for me to cover the announcement of @create48media reaching an agreement with King County to support continued operations at Harbor Island Studios at least for the next year. This is the short version of the story I turned for @komo4 today, with a more in-depth story coming later this week. Thank you @krisflink, @krknordenstrom, @kccclaudia, @thecinechick, and @downtownkate for speaking with me today about a resource that is needed in our region and that needs to be around for years to come. @harborislandstudios #keepfilminwa #filmmaking #newsphotojournalist #harborislandstudios
