Set inside a historic 1920s building in the heart of downtown, DTLA Proper brings together Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, bold interiors and an eclectic mix of art and design. Designed by Kelly Wearstler, the hotel feels layered and full of character, with vintage pieces, rich textures and unexpected details throughout. A different side of LA, and one worth checking in for.

A few weeks ago @aliiiigardner and I went to @createcultivate in LA. We found inspiration in the connections we made with other business women and the speakers they had on deck. We also found even more inspiration shopping. ✌🏽

When there’s this much happening in a room, the floor has an important job to do. 🌵 Our custom Flawless White Oak grounds the richly layered interiors of Caldo Verde at @downtownlaproper, where the spirit of Mexico City’s Roma Norte meets Downtown Los Angeles.

In Los Angeles, we presented a first look at something that’s coming very soon.

On the Cara Cara rooftop of @downtownlaproper, as the sun was setting over South Broadway, we celebrated the opening night of @ladesignweekend with drinks from @yolamezcal. On display was the upcoming issue of Directions, our broadsheet magazine made to bring you somewhere new: from ancient Thai temples to an unexpected corner of Indian wine country.
