The spirit of El Barrio.

A suffocating burnt umber cityscape,
Deadened sirens heeded from the womb
Its fleeting light inspired NYCHAs Monet
The fiends were broken edge strokes,
The whispy crack smoke was so opaque
Its brutalist framework exposed heavy
lines being snorted in staircase A
The midnight bodega exalts alone
its ambient glow spills wet across stone
Its unblended warmth shimmers in
solace as the starry ghetto cosmos
Shards of broken windows whisper
Shattered angles of early picassos
Its scars revealing an ugly underbelly
Fragmented souls as Guernica unfolds
Wars imperfections draped in treachery
The hours melt in the auburn asylum
A lifelike persistence in Dali’s memory
My ordinary was surreal,
A mural on my defaced walls
That I no longer conceal.

HONEST MOMENT: Having BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) is such a chore. It seems like I'm always cleaning up my own messes or putting out fires that I myself set. Even the very foundation of my mental health can feel so shaky... It makes it hard to take shelter.

Some days, I wake up and I can't move. I barely make it out of bed. It's almost like sleep paralysis, except you're actually awake and fully aware of the involuntary decision to give up on the day and ultimately yourself.

Other days, I'm optimistic. I'm motivated. I'm brave enough to take all the fear and transmute it into something golden. Something I can use benefit myself and others. I'm buying into my own micro-culture and my ability to not only improve but, more importantly, maintain that fruitful inner-ecosystem.

These days often rotate in bunches and it feels like I'm in a spin cycle... It's dizzying. Exhausting. So many unkind thoughts tumbling in my mind obnoxiously like Timbs in a dryer.

But I'm not here to read you my last rights. I have dedicated myself to not just endure but enrich my life. I'm not only here to survive. I am to thrive. And I will.

We all will.

I love You.

Because the summer was too memorable to unpack and then pack into one post, I present to you SUMMER DUMP²!

I hit a fashion milestone with @bibi.marz when we accidentally both dressed in all denim and evoked Brittany and Justin's 2001 all-denim fits. I've always wanted to pull this off. I would like to thank Bianca, my mum, my first grade teacher Ms. Diamond, El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz and, of course, Lil' B The Based God and The Academy. Photo by @gpaganstudio !

I reunited with @gabrieljshuldiner after not seeing each other since before the pandemic! I've curated his work in the past and I'm happy to be doing so once more. CHECK OUT SUMMER SCHOOL: CLASS OF '25 AT THE YARD.

I finally picked up my Legend Planner and started to fill it out. I'm hoping it can help hone q vision. Legend Under Construction, Kid.

I had a wonderful studio with my good friend @aliceinstalam and I'm finally curating her work after knowing one another more than a decade. She will be included in BACK TO SCHOOL: A RE-EDUCATION!

And I witnessed the GRAND OPENING of @mooncalfnyc ! CONGRATS to my people @bockhaus and @lukeivyprice!
