Reflecting.🪞🪩

Far from a sentimental woman, but wanted to take this moment to pause in gratitude. I can’t believe a month ago today I left LA. I remember the days I’d *pray* for community because I felt so lonely. I’ll never forget how loved I felt as I left because it’s made me feel like my future really is unlimited while here in Japan.

Today is special because it’s also day one of why I moved. One day I’ll post about how popular I felt, but for now here’s some gratitude for yesterday.

In the meantime, if you’re in LA please support my daughter @whoallgonbetherecomedy’s one year anniversary this wknd! So proud - I’m there in spirit fam. Otherwise, can’t wait to keep sharing my wickedly fun frolics in Japan. You just might catch me doing stand up real soon.😌💖💚

This birthday has been so memorable because not only was I deeply surrounded by love and fun chaos but @jerahmilligan and @tony_pape and I made a lil thing ON my birthday! Was the best way to start a new lap around the sun and I’m so wildly excited for all the adventures to come.

From being on our own set to Universal to seeing Table 17 to being Elphie’s forgotten family to race car driving to being grown n sexy ‘in Paris’ THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO MADE THIS “23rd” BIRTHDAY SO WICKEDLY MAGICAL!!😂😂🥰 Love you deeply.

Wow… it’s been 10 years since I graduated @morehouse1867 … and what a ride!! Choosing Morehouse was the best decision I’ve ever made.

Because of Morehouse I am the man I am today.
Because of Morehouse I’ve been able to walk through doors and into rooms that weren’t even in my wildest dreams.
Because of Morehouse I’ve met long lasting friends, mentors, and brothers tied together by more than blood.
Because of Morehouse I can drink anyone under the table 🤣

To my classmates @morehouse.2015 - it’s time to celebrate and be reminded of the journey. The long waits in financial aid, the treks up Brown Street in a three piece suit in the Georgia heat, the study* sessions in Club Woody, the late night wings on the Promenade, the growing collection of suits and ties, the laundry room parties in Archer 😂😂 (iykyk), the academic rigor and deep investment from our faculty, the feeling you get when your favorite professor or campus staff dapped you up or gave you the biggest auntie hugs….

From Olive Branch to Baccalaureate… Well-Dressed Wednesdays to Market Fridays…Brown Street to Wall Steet, Stacy Adams to Brooks Brothers 😂, and from a boy to a man.

I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
