POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

1 year ago today! 🔥✨

We cannot believe it’s been a whole year since the first day of rehearsal for our tour of MUTTON. Where has that time gone?!

We learned so much through this process; where our priorites lie as a company; how difficult it can be to successfully tour work in the current arts climate; but also how much we absolutely love making new work, and creating adventures in the arts that invest in the communities we work with.

That’s why our next show, Generation Wait, will be made with and for the communities; co-creating opportunities to involve local people, let their stories be heard, and feel ownership over a piece of professional theatre!

When we toured MUTTON, we got a lot of “you should keep making more shows like this!” and trust us, that’s the goal. There’s always plans bubbling away behind the scenes, but those plans are often clouded by Chris & Rheanna crying into an Arts Council bid… 🥲

So before we open Grantium for one more stab at it, we’re just gonna take a moment to enjoy these glorious rehearsal shots captured by @ant_robling and attempt to remain optimistic…!

MUTTON 2025 was generously funded by @aceagrams @heritagefunduk & supported by @redladdertheatrecompany @harrogatetheatre @leedslibraries @interplaytheatre

A huge thank you to @emilyfg_photography for my new headshots!

I had the loveliest time working with Emily in her gorgeous new studio, would highly recommend booking with her when you need new ones. It was the most relaxed and 'me' I've ever been while having headshots done and we had so much fun playing with colour 🎨

And it brought me so much joy to wear clothes I've knitted in them too🧶 A white woman with long dark hair in a white top and a green corduroy jacket against a pink background.

How are we nearly at the end of January already?! Things have very quickly resumed back to normal pace for us here, with our regular weekly groups fully in the swing of things now, as well as lots of exciting plans/meetings/happenings too!

We’ve spent the first couple of weeks of the new year reminiscing on all of the fantastic projects we worked on during 2025. Alongside our regular activity (weekly youth theatres, adults drama and wellbeing session, afterschool drama clubs, writing groups etc) we also, somehow, crammed all of this in as well. 🤩

Sometimes when you’re just in the thick of the work, it’s tough to stop and be proud of what’s been achieved! 2025 was a great year for us, and we can’t wait to see what’s next… 👀🥳

Thank you to our amazing funders, networks, communities and partners for being along for the ride!

Absolutely gorgeous production shots captured by Ant and Rhys from our ✨ SOLD OUT ✨opening night of MUTTON at Leeds Central Library on Thursday!

Aaaandddd, we’ve had our first review in. Thank you Debbie Rolls from @leedsliving who absolutely captured the show:

“The play raises questions about public gullibility, especially in times of hardship. It considers what individuals may do when they feel desperate. However, at its root is the knowledge that we live in a society where life for women is difficult and unfair. While the audience might not agree with her methods, it is difficult not to be impressed by Mary Bateman’s attempts to disrupt the status quo.” 💪🏻⚡️

Follow the link in our bio to read the rest of the review! And of course, to grab yourself a Pay-What-You-Can ticket to our upcoming shows. Eeeee it’s all a little bit exciting innit!!
