Dry needling

Dry needling isn’t the treatment. It’s another tool in the toolbox. 🧰

One of the biggest misconceptions about dry needling is that it’s a replacement for movement-based care.

It’s not.

My approach has always been centered around helping people move better, build capacity, and regain confidence in their body.

Dry needling simply adds another tool to that process.

🟢 What makes it unique is that, unlike many other interventions, it allows us to use a very precise stimulus through the skin and into deeper tissues.

This can influence local muscle responses
pain sensitivity, and the nervous system in ways that may help create a better environment for movement.

‼️And that’s the part that excites me.

Pain is not just a tissue problem.

It’s an experience created by an entire system!

including the muscles
nervous system
emotions
environment
and the demands we place on our bodies.

📝 Research continues to explore how interventions like dry needling may influence neuromuscular responses and nervous system regulation, including changes in pain modulation and autonomic responses.

But the most important piece?
What happens after the needle.

A temporary decrease in symptoms, improved tolerance, or a window of reduced sensitivity gives us an opportunity:
➡️ Move
➡️ Load
➡️ Strengthen
➡️ Build resilience

Dry needling doesn’t replace exercise. It doesn’t replace education. It doesn’t replace movement.

It complements them👏👏
Adding dry needling to my skill set didn’t change my philosophy—it expanded my ability to help people get back to doing what they love.
