HONORING DR. JOYNICOLE MARTINEZ | PARTNER IN HOPE

Hope becomes powerful when it meets opportunity. ✨

What happens when a woman’s potential meets the right tools, guidance, and support? She begins to build something of her own.

At our 23rd Annual Fall Celebration, Building a Community of Welcome, Josephine’s Place is proud to honor Dr. Joynicole Martinez, President and CEO of Rising Tide Capital, with the Partner in Hope Award for her leadership in advancing inclusive entrepreneurship and her organization’s transformative partnership with our community.

Since Fall 2024, more than 60 women from Josephine’s Place have graduated from Rising Tide Capital’s Community Business Academy, turning their ideas, talents, and passions into possibilities.

From custom creations and textiles to food, cleaning services, gift making, and more, these women are building businesses that support their families, meet community needs, and contribute to the local economy. Some have even earned recognition through the Academy’s Executive Summary Competitions.

These are more than business ventures. They are stories of confidence, independence, and women creating new possibilities for themselves and the generations that follow.

Through Dr. Martinez’s leadership and Rising Tide Capital’s partnership, we are witnessing what becomes possible when women are given the opportunity to grow.

This is what partnership in hope looks like: believing in women, investing in their potential, and building a community where their dreams have room to grow.

Congratulations, Dr. Joynicole Martinez, our 2026 Partner in Hope! 💛

Join us Thursday, November 12, 2026, at Hanover Manor as we celebrate the people and partnerships building a community of welcome.

Last night, @njbiz honored our CEO and President, Dr. Joynicole Martinez, @dr.joynicole, as one of the 2026 Leading Women in Business.

We are proud to celebrate her recognition together.

At Rising Tide Capital leading is a collective effort. It is reflected in the entrepreneurs who trust us with their ambitions, the team members who support them, the partners and supporters who expand what is possible, and the many people who have helped build this organization over more than two decades.

Dr. Martinez’s recognition is a meaningful moment for our organization because it reflects the strength of that shared work and the momentum behind where we are headed.

Congratulations to Dr. Martinez and to all of this year’s honorees.

What fills your cup?

Sometimes building, leading, caring for others, and pursuing what’s next can make it easy to overlook the person at the center of it all: you.

At Sparks of Joy, Dr. Joynicole Martinez (@dr.joynicole) and Tito Santos Silva (@an_object_in_motion ) reflected on the power of turning inward, paying attention to what restores us, and making room for the small moments that bring us back to ourselves.

Sometimes it’s not a dramatic change.

It’s standing up from your desk. Taking a two-minute walk. Changing your surroundings. Asking what gives you energy and what quietly takes it away.

Because understanding what you need isn’t separate from how you show up for your work, your family, or your community. It can be part of what allows you to show up more fully.

So today, we’re borrowing the question from their conversation:

What do you need to fill your cup?

Share this with someone who spends so much time pouring into others that they might need the reminder, too.

You don’t need to have it all figured out before you start.

That’s why we’re here.

Maybe you have an idea you can’t stop thinking about. Maybe people are already paying you for something you do on the side. Or maybe you’ve started your business and know it’s time to build a stronger foundation.

Wherever you’re starting from, the Community Business Academy can help you learn what comes next.

Over 12 weeks, you’ll explore the fundamentals behind starting, running, and growing a business, from planning and pricing to marketing and finances, alongside other entrepreneurs building too.

More than 13,000 entrepreneurs have participated in Rising Tide Capital’s training and mentoring since 2004.

Your next step could start this September.

What was the spark that started your journey? ✨

As entrepreneurs, it’s easy to become consumed by deadlines, responsibilities, and the next milestone. In the process, we can lose sight of the very thing that inspired us to begin.

At Sparks of Joy, Senator Angela V. McKnight @senatorangelavmcknight reminded us that joy isn’t a reward waiting at the finish line—it’s the fuel that carries us through every challenge, every lesson, every relationship, and every victory along the way.

Her message is one we hope every entrepreneur hears:

Protect your spark.
Protect your purpose.
Celebrate the journey.

If these words resonate with you, share this Reel with an entrepreneur who could use the reminder today.

✨ What is the spark that started your journey?

Tell us in the comments. We’d love to celebrate it with you.

From balloons…to big dreams. 🎈✨

Here’s Rising Tide entrepreneur Wendy Rodriguez @wendekdetalles bringing the Spring 2026 Community Business Academy Graduation to life, one balloon at a time.

Our favorite part?

The backdrop was created by an entrepreneur to celebrate entrepreneurs.

That’s what community is all about!

That’s the beauty of supporting small businesses.

That is core to Rising Tide Capital.

Congratulations to Wendy and to all 169 graduates who are building businesses, creating opportunities, and inspiring what’s possible.

Here’s to building brighter futures, together.
