The longer your foot stays on the ground, the more we need to look at what’s happening with your running mechanics. @danmarchese_ makes a great point here. 👇 If you’re dealing with knee pain, hip discomfort, or even low back pain while running, your stride length could be part of the problem. Overstriding can increase braking forces and change how your body absorbs load with every step. That means your running mechanics might be worth evaluating before you keep pushing through the pain. The goal isn’t just to run more miles. It’s to move more efficiently, build resilience, and keep your body performing at its best. 💪 Small changes in mechanics can make a big difference.

It is sad. It is frustrating. We do everything we know how to do as physicians, we follow our protocols that we went to school for, all we ever try to do is be the best doctors for our patients. Good morning. I’ve loved being a healthcare practitioner throughout the years. Helping people has given my life purpose, and I’m grateful for that. But looking back, one thing I would have done differently is protect more of my time. We get so caught up in being busy and building a successful practice that we forget to ask: What is that success giving us time to enjoy? The family moments. The milestones. The ordinary days with people we love. Those moments don’t wait for our schedules to clear. That’s why creating Velocity HP Coaching means so much to me. I get to help practitioners build systems that support excellent care, stronger compensation, and more control over their time. You can love your work and still want room to live. You can serve your patients without feeling forced to fill every hour of your day. If your current treatment plan is “I’m just going to tell myself I’m good and push through it…” Let’s chat a bit, eh? 😂 Pain is multifactorial. It’s not always as simple as where it hurts or what structure is irritated. Nociceptors, the thalamus, and several other areas of the brain and nervous system all play a role in how pain is processed, interpreted, and experienced. And no, that doesn’t mean the pain is all in your head. But it also kind of is 😂. Sometimes we find a clear reason for your pain. Sometimes we don’t. Shit happens. 🤷‍♂️ But that doesn’t mean we’re out of options. With the right treatment plan, we can influence many of these factors, improve how your body responds, and help you get back to doing what you love. “The radiologist who read this X-ray recommends a CT to further evaluate a suspected sacral fracture. Is that not enough for you to approve it?” “Apparently not.” 🤯 READ THAT AGAIN. A radiologist sees a possible fracture and recommends further imaging. The doctor orders it. Insurance says no. Apparently, the people who examined the patient and interpreted the imaging still aren’t qualified to decide what the patient needs. But the insurance company is. This is what’s broken about healthcare in America. And unfortunately, 2027 looks like it’s going to be even worse. Higher insurance costs. Lower physician reimbursement. More out-of-pocket expenses for patients. Meanwhile, doctors are spending hours fighting insurance companies instead of treating patients. This isn’t healthcare. It’s a business model. And the patient is the one paying for it. 👇 How many times has your insurance company denied something your doctor recommended?
