What started out as a project for my humanities class quickly became something much deeper. The assignment challenged me to connect a present day concept to historical cultural movement. During this process, it reminded me that art is meant to be fun, expressive, and reflective.

Bridging the Harlem Renaissance with modern day fashion at Historically Black Colleges and Universities clicked instantly. These moments are the essence of what fuels and sustains our community through photography, modeling, and much more. I had the opportunity to capture what this connection feels like to me and to fellow students at my Home by the Sea!
