Earlier this year I tried iridology with Stephanie Abigale Sam ( reading the iris for health clues ) after seeing it on TT. I was skeptical, however, no matter how much I followed all advise & instructions from medical professionals....I just wasn't getting better. My report revealed things I’d never shared online....like swollen nodes & a shoulder rash ( which I only saw after the report )....so even my family, who thought it was a “scam,” were shocked when their own reports matched hidden issues.

Living with autoimmune disease means harsh treatments that sometimes save you but also damage other organs 💔 ( like my avascular necrosis in major joints ). People often ask why we’re “always sick”.....& today this video by Dr Autoimmune popped up
...he explained it best....weak immunity makes us prone to constant infections, & treating those can trigger even more issues ( now you understand why I try to avoid hospital until the very end )

My monthly meds cost around R6k ( with little medical aid support ), so I’ve focused heavily on gut health & diet changes ( I obviously can't make every single change as you know, its a costly affair & neither can every person out there, hence they resort to just taking the medication provided.....so pls don't judge anyone ).

Science shows that 70% of our immune system lives in the gut....so even small changes help. I’m improving slowly, & even my family is now paying attention to their gut health 🙏

Grateful that Stephanie guided me with small changes that don’t cost an arm & a leg—thank you 💕

Autoimmune is not one-size-fits-all.....so pls dont be forcing anyone to try this or that...just because it helped someone else....what works for one may not work for another.

One year ago was the end of five hospital stays a week at a time! It ending with removing 7 inches of my colon. I thought I was healthy but in 2019 something took me down hard and fast. By 2022 I was having emergency hospital stays. THIS is why I post about 84 days new you. Why I make clean candles and body butter. Why I feel making healthy changes are important. Triad autoimmunity: let’s explore the three crucial elements involved in autoimmune diseases. 🧬💪

Just wanted to stop in and say Happy Holidays ❄️🎄

This year has been an absolutely whirlwind. We moved from NYC to Hudson Valley, I started a podcast, launched my online course to help people struggling with autoimmune disease, began working with an amazing Functional Doctor in Colorado, got to help @grabaspoonwellness photograph her beautiful plant-based cookbook (that is now on sale at Barnes & Noble), visited the mountains and the beach in one month, and have tried to explore every adventure NY has to offer.

I'll be flying home to Dallas this week for the first time in a year and a half and I couldn't be more thrilled to finally hug so many friends & family we were unable to when we moved during the pandemic.

It's times like this that make you realize what matters most in this world. I am beyond myself with love and appreciation this year for every single person who has lifted me up when I thought the whole world was crashing down around me.

🎄HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!🎄 I had the pleasure of creating and photographing this paleo recipe for @dr_autoimmune as a Christmas present to our patients this year! I hope you enjoy this sweet, salty, and spicy holiday snack as much as I did making it!!!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ingredients:
2 egg whites
2 cups raw almonds
2 cups raw cashews
2 cups raw walnut halves
3/4 cup coconut sugar
2 TBSP madras curry powder
1 TBSP ground cumin
1 1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 1/4 tsp sea salt
1 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp ground cardamom
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Drizzle of ghee (optional)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Steps:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Toast nuts on
parchment lined baking sheet for 10 mins, mix
half way through.
2. In a small bowl, mix coconut sugar and all
spices together.
3. In a large bowl, whisk egg whites until they
form stiff peaks with electric hand mixer.
4. Add nuts to egg whites and stir until fully
coated. Add spice mix and stir again.
5. Arrange nuts in a single layer on a parchment
lined baking sheet with a thin coat of ghee.
6. Bake for 45 mins, cool for one hour.
Break the nuts into bite-sized pieces and serve!

Officially a cherry-picking farm girl 🍒 👩🏻‍🌾

The past 2 months have been a huge transition period for me. We moved from NYC to Hudson Valley where there's farms to visit, mountains to hike, and lots of fresh air to breathe.

Not only has our living situation changed, but I've also been given the incredible opportunity to start working remotely with a Functional Doctor in Colorado at @dr_autoimmune! I was hired as their Functional Nutritionist and have the honor of walking patients through diet and lifestyle changes that can help them heal from autoimmune disease and other debilitating illnesses.

I never fully understood why I was put through such trying times in my personal healing journey, but throughout the years I have come to realize it's for this purpose.
