Follow @fatherfigurefrat for more info and share this with a homie who you think could benefit of building with the brothers.

*Respect to all the mamas out there (‘cause our kids need you—-that ain’t even a question) but this is an invite specifically for the daddies 🙏🏾*

If you are a dad (or dad like figure) within the GTA, whether you got a two year old or a 22-year old, walk side by side with another dad, talk with another dad and let’s help each other figure out this daddy-ing thing.

Whether you are a biological dad or a dad-like figure to a kid, walk with us.

Whether you see your kids everyday or only some of the time, walk with us.

Let your kids hold your hand or run ahead and meet other kids during the walk. Bring your homeboy’s kids if he can’t come or if you know a mama whose kiddos dad ain’t around, ask if you can bring her kiddo.

This ain’t no bbq or men’s breakfast (although perhaps some dudes may eventually connect more break bread with each other)

This ain’t no secret soft business launch (although you may network with someone…but make this about fatherhood please…don’t be a salesman 🤷🏽‍♂️). There ain’t no homework and there ain’t no WhatsApp group. Just take one step at a time.

Come when you can and leave when you have to. 2-hours. Once a month. Location tbd every time.

Noone is asking you for any commitment. If you come to one of these 2-hour walks, sweet. If you don’t, we will have missed you. Come to the next one.

Maybe you and your kids will make a new friend or brother.

If your homie has no kids but he’s a great uncle, invite him.

If you are a mom, and you know that the father of your children is a little bit shy, gently invite him to come be with the other dads.

The hope is that we can figure out this daddy thing together and intergenerationally…one step at a time…literally.

Shoutout to the phenomenal @kalvin.bridgewater and @daddystrollersocialclub for their inspiration and work in the US with thousands of dads. They say it perfectly: come through WITH your kids, make friends, and keep in touch. That’s it.

On September 20th 2016, I officially published my first book, I was 26.

We’re now almost 10 full years later, I’m thankful and blessed to have built up a successful #literacy and #Community #Engagement Platform.

One whose chief aim is to inspire others to engage in self discovery and reflection, scholarship, and the pursuit of upward mobility through #Education #Mentorship and strong family bonds.

I’d be a liar 🤥 if I said I built this movement by myself. The really is WE DID THIS! 🙏🏾

Thank you to everyone who has supported the movement; however you did. By sharing a post, inviting a friend to a book launch 🚀, supporting my kickstarter, cooking at an event, supporting me with and event space, helping me pack boxes 📦 of books across the city and beyond, praying for me, and just being there to talk when I doubted myself.

Those words and thoughts 💭 and prayers mean the world to me! You know who you are. Thanks to my team, my family and my chosen family, my mentors and mentees, my brothers sisters and cousins, and also to the strangers who have become acquainted with the movement and supported with no context!

This fall we gonna celebrate 🎉 years of Change!

Alyssa Amarshi has built a career on one belief: art reaches places that words alone can't.

At Stay Sensitized, she's bringing that practice to educators who are ready to experience equity work differently.

A racist video gets posted. It goes viral. Your students see it.

And they walk into your classroom the next day waiting to see if you'll say something.

Stay Sensitized gives you the tools to not freeze in that moment.

For 16+ years, Little Jamaica Ward 8 has carried the burden of decisions made without any community consent.

Businesses closed. Families displaced. Culture disrupted.

This isn’t just about infrastructure; it’s about people, dignity and accountability.

“I will continue to stand with Ward 8 and demand real solutions, not excuses.”
