Looking back on a great clinical day with Dr. Adams and Dr. Kuo.

What I particularly enjoyed about being chairside during this visit was seeing how technology integrated into real clinical situations — especially when the case did not follow the easiest path.

We saw a very nice case involving a lateral canal, as well as another challenging case where two separated file fragments were removed during treatment with the support of OdneClean.

Cases like these led to some of the most interesting conversations. Not because technology replaced clinical skill, but because it provided another tool when anatomy or previous treatment made the situation more complex.

Thank you, Dr. Adams and Dr. Kuo, for sharing your cases, your clinical thinking and such an insightful day.

It still feels a little surreal that we’re in our new space. 🖤

Thanks to Jonathan Klenke @forkandshovel , we’re able to hold onto these moments from our Vernissage de Lancement, our grand opening celebration, through these photographs featuring some of the most beautiful, colorful, and wonderful people who came through our doors.

And if you weren’t able to make it to the opening, don’t worry. There will always be opportunities to visit SDPS, meet the community, and find your way into the studio.

Starting today, Friday, September 4, 2026, from 10 AM–5 PM, we’re opening our doors for our first FREE FRIDAY.

Come by, check out the studio, see the equipment, meet the team, meet other artists, ask questions, make a print, or simply hang out and get a feel for the space before committing to one of our membership options.

No pressure. Just come through.

And we just dropped our Fall Course Schedule 🍂🖤

We have a full season of printmaking classes coming up, with opportunities to explore relief printing, screen printing, lithography, etching, monotype, and more.

Head over to our website for the full schedule, course descriptions, dates, and registration information.

WEIGH IN! Endodontists - I’d love your thoughts on this case. I have an explanatory model of what’s happening, but I want to see what others have to say as well. Pt is age 60+, said “something has been going on with this tooth for 15+ years but it’s never bothered me.” No response to cold or EPT. What do you think is happening in this case? 🤔 💭 #carestreamdental #carestream #cbct #endodontist #endodontics

A well-balanced strength and conditioning plan has many OpTiMaL qualities-

If you can manage to stop being so myopic for just a second.

Anybody who has started a session with some plyos or power movements can FEEL how they're ready to crush heavier weights. If they go on to learn about potentiation later down the line, it just makes sense.

But when you just extrapolate wildly from some mechanism, you instead end up with these "schizo reps."

Look, you don't HAVE to utilize potentiation to see great results. But if you've never tried plyos, it can just be another in a long list of benefits.

Following up on a previous post regarding tooth #30/4.6, the patient presented for a 20-month continuing care appointment, and we were extremely pleased with the periapical healing observed. The apical third, which had been non-negotiable using mechanical scouting files, was effectively debrided with eight minutes of broad-spectrum acoustic energy. Multisonic irrigation allowed for thorough penetration and cleaning of complex mid-root and apical anatomies. Rather than struggling with traditional instrumentation, we allowed multisonic technology to take over. Thanks to enhanced irrigation provided by the GentleWave Procedure, we are no longer fighting with these types of teeth.

Obturation was performed using sealer-based hydraulic condensation, which captured the tooth’s complex anatomy to its terminal extents—the ultimate proxy for effective irrigation in this case.

Case treated by Dr. Michael Ribera.

Sincere THANKS to Sonendo for the added PEACE OF MIND in managing this challenging tooth.

WAIT — WHERE DID THAT FURCATION CANAL COME FROM?
Indeed, root canal anatomy is notoriously variable and unpredictable, and the unexpected is often the norm rather than the exception. As @1endoguy aptly put it, “Anatomy only matters when it matters.”

KEY CLINICAL TAKEAWAYS from this case — performed by Michael Ribera and dedicated to @kreenaspecialistendodontics, the ‘Queen’ of furcation canals 👸:
    1. Anatomy rules (with appreciation to Dr. Schilder). To the extent we take care of it, endodontic outcomes become far more predictable.
    2. 3-D cleaning facilitates 3-D obturation. As @fredobukietendodontics has previously noted, “Bioceramic sealers are (inherently) hydraulic.” This property promotes the sealing of both discovered and undiscovered portals of exit (POEs), optimizing the endodontic seal.
    3. Based on our clinical experience, improved clinical success is directly tied to enhanced disinfection. A greater emphasis on the thorough cleaning of complex anatomical configurations can significantly increase the long-term prognosis of endodontic therapy.

4. Appreciate the outstanding restorative effort to complete the endodontic seal.

NOTE Figure 7: The DC Taper file (SS White) remains one of our preferred instruments for final canal preparation. Its conservative design, featuring a maximum flute diameter (MFD) of 0.49 mm, makes it especially effective for GentleWave-enabled procedures. It allows for optimal irrigant delivery while maximally preserving precious pericervical dentin (PCD).

TX sequence for this case: 10F (EAL, scout), 17/04 (secure glide paths), GentleWave (8min clean & disinfect), single cone (size FF) with BC sealer (EndoSequence), core.

As always, we welcome your insights, feedback, and shared enthusiasm for anatomy-driven endodontics.
