100 Voices Road To Bangkok WorldPride 2030

“We care about drag not only because we love it. We have begun asking how the people who love it as much as we do can actually sustain a life through drag.” 🌈✨

Meet Phatthara Lertsukittipongsa, Creative Director of Drag Bangkok, who went from fan and ally of the drag community to a driving force behind Drag Bangkok Festival, one of Asia’s largest gatherings of drag artists.

For Phatthara, drag’s growth cannot be measured by a handful of famous names. It depends on whether the wider community has the income, space, and opportunities to grow sustainably—and on whether everyone can express themselves with joy and safety.

Hosting WorldPride 2030 is not about copying the world, but about showing the world Thailand’s own roots—from show performers and cabaret to likay and molam—as part of the 100 Voices Road To Bangkok WorldPride 2030 project.

In light of the recent police raid on a gay bar in Taipei — and the serious concerns it has raised within the LGBTQIA+ community over excessive policing, discriminatory treatment, and humiliating remarks made during the operation — I think this is exactly the moment when we need more public conversations about equality, dignity, and what an LGBTQIA+-friendly city should actually look like.

@wanan.chiang @pumashen — I’d love to invite you both to join me for a public conversation this Pride Month.

I’d also like to invite people from across the LGBTQIA+ community and different fields to join the conversation. I’ll host, and together we can talk about how we can make our society more diverse, inclusive, and genuinely LGBTQIA+-friendly.

Drag queens have always used boldness, performance, and visibility to get people’s attention. But we can also use that attention to listen — to hear what our candidates envision for the future, and to create a space where our community can participate in the conversation.

This year’s Taiwan LGBT+ Pride theme is “Our Voices, Our Journey” (聲做伙聽，路做伙行) — a call for us to listen to one another, find common ground, and move forward together.

So let’s talk. Let’s listen. And let’s move forward together.

—

Thank you @yellow.channel @dragbangkok for creating such a beautiful and meaningful event in Thailand.

Next stop: Taiwan. ✨

(Drag Is Art, and Dreams Demand Action: The Voice of Foiegras Ausdrang Vechaya)

Thailand’s Drag Star 2025

▼ English below ▼

(Don’t Wait for Someone Else to Make Space: Patara on Taking Drag from Surin to the World Stage)

Drag Queen

▼ English below ▼

(When Drag Becomes Art, Identity, and a Force for Social Change)

Drag Bangkok

▼ English below ▼

- Road to WorldPride
