Our minds are like an engine; when it operates optimally, we' both efficient and productive, centered and balanced. We get things done and time just zips by because we’re in “the zone.” We do some thinking and planning ahead, but we also get right into our bodies and just get to doing. At other times, we get too caught up in our minds, and tend to think too much, overthink, and even overanalyze things. It’s “paralysis by analysis” where we get immobilized, frozen, stuck in thinking cycles that just keep on going round and round. And just like an engine that keeps on running without any stoppages, rest or breaks, our minds can start to “break down” which causes us stress and can lead to several undesirable consequences like illness, disease, etc. Without proper checks and balances in place, and proper rest and recharging ourselves, our (over)thinking can cause us suffering, especially when it results in negative feelings that lower our energies and decrease our motivation to get things done. So, what is practical solution that can help you to think less and not become “paralyzed”? One tool in my toolbox is journalling. Rather than have all my thoughts swirl around in my head and spin my mind around, it’s healthier for me to write down my thoughts to gain more clarity in my LiFE. I’ve also explored my thoughts, where they’ve come from, if they’re even mine to begin with, and in doing so have reduced the number of thoughts in my head, which also helps me to be more clear-minded. It’s a “decluttering” of the mind of thoughts that don’t serve us well or benefit us much. And where I need to think, I focus more on planning out what needs to be done then just doing it, instead of worrying about those things. I “think ahead, not worry ahead.” To find out how we can help you to give your mind a break, and reduce your thoughts and overthinking, visit www.spiritualwarriorwellness.com to book your FREE Discovery Consultation with us!
