Big conferences like this are exciting but can also be overwhelming if you’re like me and don’t really like networking so Deja and I are putting together an official @sxsw creator meetup to build some legitimate relationships.

Happy International Women’s Day. 🌸

Over the past year and a bit I’ve had the honor of chatting with 17 women about a whole variety of topics. We’ve learned, shared, laughed, cried, and felt seen in each other’s stories.

I don’t talk nearly enough about what happens inside Light 56 Circle, partly because it can feel random from the outside. It’s not a fitness group where everyone is chasing the same goal. It’s not a business community where everyone is scaling something. We are each redefining what success looks like for us in LIFE and as a result practicing things that are personal and may see small, but are big to us. It’s a safe place to just BE. And because of that, the topics are broad.

But the connecting thread? Women supporting each other. Inspiring each other. Seeing and being seen.

A safe place to BE ourselves, practice starting/failing/restarting and share our wildest dreams - both big and small.

We’ve painted watercolours. Talked Feng Shui. Explored mindfulness, play, self-trust, spotting joy, and making change without shame. Planned for a life that actually feels like our favorite and helps us feel fully alive.

Women aren’t one-dimensional, we don’t have to hustle and do all the things (unless you want to)! Learning from like-hearted women who are sharing their light across the full range of life experiences feels like one of the most connected things we can do. 💖

Sisterhood over competition. Always.

Let me know which of these conversations you’d like to watch or listen to and I’ll send you the link.

I’ve felt truly honored to speak with each of these women and can’t wait for more conversations, learning & connection 🫶💖✨

The goal was NOT to DO MORE.
The goal was to FEEL CURIOUS, CONNECTED, CLEAR & VIBRANT.

The result was all of that plus more fun, confidence, willingness to TRY.

Comment TRY CHALLENGE to get the framework & tracker I used.

The rules were simple, something I haven’t done in 5 years and included:
🖌️craft ideas I’ve seen on the internet
🍝trying new recipes & food
📚discovering my love of @littlefreelibrary
✈️attending my first @altsummit with @heidileonardphotography
🤗meeting online friends like @molly.balint @jennaspaige in person
💻meeting new friends like @dianadaviscreative @jordanswainartist @dramatic_deja @the_play_coach (while trying a new recipe)
🫖 first time experiences with my family & mom
🧘‍♀️🏄🏼‍♀️ new activities on vacation @kailiannie
🏒 wearing sparkles to a hockey game with friends I hadn’t seen in forever
🪡 checking out small businesses I’ve always wanted to visit like @rain_city_ndlpt & paisleys.tea

What do you want to try!?

PS - this audio 🎧 from @taradefrancisco is 🔥and so many people sent it to me during this challenge so I had to try it 😉

Woke up at 3am to take a 6am flight to arrive at 9am to the #Summitofgreatness and it was totally worth it.

Met nice folks, listened to inspiring and smart speakers and performers, and got to do new limited-edition sketchnotes once again.

My heart is full!

What was your main takeaway from the Summit?

For me it was “remember your future.” #iykyk

ps. If you're interested in buying the sketchnotes, head to the link in my bio. [UPDATE: This campaign is over. These sketchnotes are no longer available]
