$S H O U T O U T ~ On Monday evening I was asked to appear on @bbc5live to speak about ‘all things wedding related’. As I sat listening to the conversation just moments before I came on air it suddenly moved to a discussion about the costs involved in a wedding and how vendors add on a couple of extra £00’s whenever the word ‘wedding’ is mentioned. . This is not the first time I have heard such comments, those who follow the media will have no doubt seen or heard similar comments branded about on numerous occasions previously. . Having worked in this industry now for five years I can hand on heart say this couldn’t be further from the truth, certainly not with the vendors whom I have encountered or have had the pleasure of working with. . As a case in point I thought I’d use a tiny fraction of our work from last week to illustrate just how many hours and how hard my vendors worked to bring just one element of the wedding design to life. . The complexities involved in creating this beautiful ceiling installation were a little mind blowing to say the least! Countless planning meetings, calls and emails with our lighting, floristry and draping team took place even before we got on site last week. . Coordinating all the elements of the design in synchronicity was no easy feat. Thankfully we had an expert team on board who were just as passionate about their work as I am myself. In total nearly 50 man hours were spent creating this stunning installation. . To ensure the successful delivery and completion of this whole event some 20+ SME vendor teams were involved, working +14 hour days over a period of 7 days straight. I think it is fair to say that each and everyone of those involved demonstrated their value. .
