Running better takes more than logging more miles. 🏃📚

I chose these five books together because each looks at running through a different lens:

• Chi Running - How you move: posture, relaxation, and awareness with every stride.

• The Science of Running - How you train: understanding the body and the purpose behind your workouts.

• Breathing for Warriors - How you breathe: treating breathing as a skill you can practice.

• Born to Run - Why you run: adventure, community, and the joy of seeing what your body can do.

• Endure: How you perceive effort: exploring the relationship between your mind, your body, and your limits.

Together, they offer a fuller approach to becoming a better runner. Technique gives you something to practice. Science gives your training direction. Breathing brings awareness. Mindset helps you understand hard efforts. Joy gives you a reason to keep showing up.

I like learning from different perspectives, taking useful ideas from each, and putting them into practice. These five give you plenty to explore whether you’re starting your first mile or preparing for your next ultra.

Save this for your next read. Which one would you start with?

I map consciousness in the body using sound.

You can too!

NEW ALBUM is now for sale in my store—link in bio.

Woot. 💥

I’ve composed and produced music for you to listen to that makes you feel something different each time you listen and wakes up your brain.

Combined with subtle nasal breath it has been reported to create rapid shifts in mental models and full body felt sensation around pain or memories we don’t love.

I hope it brings you some rest in the current storms we are all living in.

If you can read the breath you can read thoughts, emotions, patterns and ultimately predict behaviors.

I do it every day for the most impossible to reach humans, global orgs and masters of the universe.

I train people how to read the breath like an intel brief and then deploy those insights accordingly under circumstances the average human cannot imagine.

I created a system and a process.

Rooted in physical pain and medical diagnoses that said “shut up, take your pills and die.”

I stayed on my knees when life put me there and smashed me to pieces.

It was there that I forged NeuroAcrobatics…in an MRI that thought I was dead because it couldn’t detect my breath or my heart rate.

In that space of “barely alive” was the solution.

My breath & my creative thoughts formed a way out of darkness. A way from death to life.

I’ve deployed it to serve.

I’ve pressure tested and refined, reformed and reiterated for 7 years

All based on this foundation.

YOUR BREATH IS A METAPHOR.

I've known Dr. Belisa Vranich for many years. She's the real deal. She actually invented the BIQ, or Breath IQ, which is quickly becoming one of the most popular and reliable ways to assess how you breathe so you can improve breathing muscles and capacity.

If you want to improve performance, and learn more about arguably the single most important function your body performs (over 20,000 times per day....) read this book. Or get the audio version read by the authors.

Atemmuskeln sind Muskeln. Aber trainierst du sie auch wie Muskeln? 🫁

Respiratory muscles are muscles.
But do you train them like muscles?

Breathing is not only relaxation.
It is also movement, pressure, coordination and regulation.

Just like with other muscles:
**the right stimulus + consistency = adaptation.** 💪

Studies show interesting links with exercise tolerance, perceived breathlessness, athletic performance and daily-life capacity.

More on this in the upcoming posts. 👀
