It’s been a year since HIFAF.

While building it, I spent so much time thinking about the mistakes, the things that went wrong, the challenges, the uncertainty, and whether I was doing enough.
It takes time to look at something you’ve built beyond its imperfections and appreciate it for what it truly was.

Looking back through these visuals, all I feel is warmth. Warmth for the five days that came alive after a year of pouring heart, soul, time, energy, and so much of life into them. So many faces. Some familiar, most strangers. But all carrying smiles.

So much learning. So much living. Sometimes I wish I could relive it all one more time.
Because now, none of the things that once felt overwhelming are what I see first.

I see people dancing in the rain while we worried about logistics. I see films being watched, music being shared, strangers becoming friends, conversations unfolding, laughter echoing through the mountains, and artists gathering simply to celebrate what they love.

I see smiles. And somehow, those smiles make everything worth it.

Mountains taught me so much. They humbled me, challenged me, protected me, and reminded me how small we are and yet how it all still makes sense in the larger sense. Truly lucky I am.

This was my first time building a festival. A community. A space for art and people to belong.

Through this journey, I feel like I was able to understand a tiny part of that calling. To see it take a tangible form. To see people gather around it. To witness it create connection, community, joy, curiosity, and belonging. And in doing so, I think I came a little closer to understanding what truly makes me happy.

So many hands came together to give HIFAF life. So many people showed up with trust, care, patience, generosity, and love. Without them, none of this would have existed.Maybe one of the most unexpected gifts of this journey was the people
