MEET THE JUDGES FOR OUR GENRE FILM-MAKERS OF THE FUTURE: SHORTS SHOWCASE! Jadey is an award-winning director and writer known for her energetic, comedy-action storytelling and sharp visual flair. With a background in dance, motion capture, and stunt performance, Jadey’s journey began on some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters, including Fast & Furious 6, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, Ready Player One, The World’s End, and Guardians of the Galaxy. This foundation in action and movement informs her distinctive, kinetic directing style. Jadey has directed multiple BAFTA and BIFA-qualifying shorts including the award-winning 10 Minutes For A Pound, the mischievous Sticky Fingers, and the heartfelt The Last Dumpling (winner of Forbidden Worlds’ Best Action Short 2025), funded by Emmy-nominated Christin Baker and premiering at the Oscar-qualifying @hollyshortslondon. Her latest project, Love & Bullets—a darkly comic thriller—was written and produced by Emmy-nominated filmmaker @neilmarshall_director. Currently, she’s developing several action projects and her debut feature film, Bingo Bastards. She recently shadowed director Christopher McQuarrie on Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, further honing her craft in large-scale action storytelling. As co-founder of @artofactionltd, Jadey has a co-production deal in the UAE, where she is set to write and direct an action feature, Blackout. www.jadeyduffield.com Follow Jadey at @JadeyDuffield During the festival next April, Forbidden Worlds will once again host an epic showcase of the latest short genre films (sci-fi, action, horror and fantasy) from around the world.
