Dream Drop - We Will Go Down (2021)

SPOTIFY & YOUTUBE

“We Will Go Down” is the second track on the 2021 album Sometimes You’re Gonna Feel Like a Loser but That’s Alright by the Swedish alternative rock and “underground pop” band Dream Drop. While the full album dropped on 10 September 2021, the track was originally released as a lead standalone single on 26 February 2021 via GAIN/Sony Music.
According to the band’s release notes, the track was written as an ultimate “doomer anthem,” intentionally leaning into dark sarcasm and humor to explore complete hopelessness regarding the state of the world.
The chorus lyrics originated from a casual joke between lead vocalist Joar Anfinset and his friend Martin. They joked that since everything felt terrible and the world was ending, the only logical option left was to play music together until the ship officially sank.
