Does your child cough directly into your face?

Flu season hits different when you’re a doctor and a mom.
Here’s what I share with my patients — and practice myself:
• The flu vaccine doesn’t always prevent infection, but it does lower your risk of severe illness, hospitalization, and complications
• Rates of influenza are rising this season
• If you develop flu symptoms, contact your doctor within 48 hours especially if you're high-risk (young, over 65, pregnant, chronic conditions) or have severe symptoms— early treatment can shorten the course and reduce severity
• Protecting yourself at work helps — but protecting your family matters too
This is your reminder to take flu season seriously — for yourself and the people you love.
