13 years ago, I started running in the 4th grade and never could’ve imagined where this sport would take me. I just recently competed at my last track meet and now closing the chapter on my college career at SLU as a D1 cross country and track athlete. This journey gave me so much more than times and races. It gave me memories I’ll never forget and lifelong friends that I know will always be by my side. Through every early morning practice, long run, bus ride, injury, PR, and bad race, I was surrounded by people who made this experience unforgettable. My freshman year of college wasn’t easy. Running wasn’t going the way I hoped, and I honestly told myself I would give it one more year before I quit. But that next year, I was blessed with teammates who became some of my best friends and family. They’re a huge reason I made it to my senior season, and I’ll forever be grateful for them. There were a lot of ups and downs throughout these years, but having such amazing people around me made every challenge easier to get through. To my parents, grandparents, teammates, coaches, and my fiancé…thank you for never leaving my side and always believing in me, even during the moments I struggled to believe in myself. I’m so grateful and proud of everything I’ve accomplished as a runner and the person this sport helped me become. While this chapter is ending, I’m definitely not done running yet. I’m excited for what’s next and looking forward to jumping into local races and continuing to do what I love.

Thank you, SLU
