Proof of life.

The NYC Marathon was everything I dreamed of & more. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the entire city that cheered every step of the way and most importantly for my family and friends who came out to support me (seriously, the best cheer section and the best shirts 🥹)

My goal was to run between 3:15-3:20 with the hope of qualifying for Boston, but I mostly just wanted to enjoy the experience. Everyone told me how special this race is and I didn’t want to get too focused on the result and miss out on all the fun.

Turns out that yesterday happened to be a great day. Not only did I qualify for Boston (3:15:36!!!!) but I also had SO MUCH FUN doing it.

Some post-race thoughts: -I always run with headphones and didn’t think I would enjoy it as much without music but I genuinely didn’t even need them. The crowds lifted me every step of the way.  -Shoutout to @candypantz and @javierdunn for getting my Coca-Cola to me at mile 23. I was dreaming about that sip for a solid 8 miles. -The volunteers deserve medals of their own- seriously so organized and encouraging. -Dog therapy at the start was a 10/10. Ruby, you’re the real MVP. -Thank you to the @volokidsfoundation for the chance to represent Team Volo Kids this year!  -Congrats to everyone who crossed the finish line!!! 🏅
