Join us next Thursday, September 3 from 7-9 pm for Close to Home, the second volume of Field Day Video Night.

The night of screenings includes works by artists and filmmakers Hayley Blomquist, Drew Ducote, Matthias Joulaud & Lucien Roux, Julian Klepper, Michael Leach, Tamara Mikaberidze, and Joelle Yu, among other moving parts.

Using Nina Simone’s “Who Knows Where the Time Goes” as the central heartbeat of the curation, this collection of videos explores being ‘close to home’ both as a proximity to a place and proximity to a feeling; navigating distance, family, growing up, grief, joy, and giving and taking.

Doors: 6:30 PM
Videos start at 7 PM

This event is free and open to the public. BYOB!

Every spring, in the ranchlands of Montague County, Texas, a collective of offroaders, mudders, and general trucking enthusiasts gather on a 1200-acre property for a festival of motorly delights. The group is known as ‘Rednecks with Paychecks.’ In a new photo series, photographer @drewducote documents the festival-goers against the backdrop of the vehicles they cherish—vehicles which Ducote sees as “extensions of themselves, bold symbols of expression.” Head to the link in our bio to see every image.
