$DUFF DOG BACKYARD ULTRA BYU Debut DNF - “The Assist” 29 yards - 120mi Tied previous course record. A backyard ultra is an ultra running format where you run a 4.167mi loop (aka yard) every hour, on the hour, until only one runner remains. The “assist” is given to the second-place runner. It’s never enjoyable to lose, yet I’ve walked away with gratitude. I’m grateful to experience the unknown, seeing as I’ve never run farther than 75mi before this past weekend. I’m grateful to have found something that I believe I can become a genuine competitor in. Finally, I’m grateful to once again be able to enter the arena. I could not have achieved a fraction of these miles without the help of my crew @lukesteichen1 and @drewpoganski this was their first time crewing a race and they crushed it. NASCAR-level efficiency every hour. Given the name “The Silent Assassin”🥷🏻 by winner @amyfeit I am grateful that my first race was with such a kind (but also fierce) competitor. This is only the beginning🤘🏼$
