The Florence Summer program allows Drexel students to spend six weeks in Florence! The program is open to all majors and minors, with an emphasis on Fashion Design, Product Design, andDesign & Merchandising. The program is run in partnership with Accademia Italiana in Florence. 🇮🇹

CLASS OF ’26: Elias Frost
Collection: Maci

For Elias Frost (@most.hated.usa) of @drexelfashiondesign, his collection is a story about what gets carried forward, and what gets left behind.

Inspired by his great-grandmother’s journey from Romania and the gradual erasure of cultural traditions across generations, the collection explores assimilation through bold prints, distorted textures, and the enduring presence of her beloved poppies.

On Friday, October 2, 2026, George Kalajian will host a special workshop for the Fashion Design seniors and graduate students of Drexel University, sharing the art and process of pleating in high-end fashion and textile design.

We’re proud to have the opportunity to share knowledge that has been passed down through five generations. At Tom’s Sons International Pleating, pleating is more than a technique. It is a craft shaped by history, experience, and generations of hands that came before us.

Passing that knowledge on to the next generation of designers is one of the most meaningful parts of what we do.
