Today the Gems school counsellors had the opportunity to attend an Advanced Drug and Vape Awareness Training for Schools delivered by Louis Donald, Founder & Principal Safeguarding Partner at EduShield and Zen Khan, Founder & Head of Z Professional Development.

A huge thank you to @louisdonald16 and @zenpduae for sharing their expertise, experience and practical strategies. It was a highly relevant and thought-provoking session, with clear takeaways to support counsellors in their day-to-day work with students.

Finally we would like to say a big thank you to @drfunkeba for arranging this training for the counselling cluster and supporting our professional development. We know the rest of the counsellors are excited to attend their training session next week.😃

JANES UPDATE - MY CHANGE Of DIRECTION TO A VERY IMPORTANT TOPIC

Whilst I will always do my 1 to 1 sessions and my classes. I have been quiet figuring out my own direction with my corporate structure.

I have worked so hard on working on wellness for teachers and students and it was all ready to go and I will still do if it required.

The universe works in very mysterious ways, our podcast was never intended to focus on bullying it just happened off script. This was back in July we recorded. It became very emotional when the children joined us for this.

The boy being bullied used my techniques and is happy with friends in school now.

Not long after, I have been through a living nightmare with a cyber bullying situation involving my son and a girl that I know. It’s beyond your wildest imagination what happened. It even got to the point someone has made fake accounts, sending me messages pretending to be a parent and tagging me in horrific and I mean horrific TIk Tok slander accounts about them and using her photo. The girl was losing her sanity over it. This has opened my eyes up to a whole cyber community I never knew existed.

Someone must be following me on here and know I am mum to my son to get the information about me.

This has now ended, leaving us all pretty shaken by it.

So I have decided to change my path.

HOLISTIC APPROACH TO BULLYING AND CYBER BULLYING, will be my project to schools. I have a very exciting announcement on this coming up.

This is not about me promoting myself or becoming some marter but if I can help one child then there are plenty more who need my help.

If you are effected in any way or someone being bullied pls dm me xxxxx

🔥They’ve landed!
My Fresh Fire hoodies are finally here! 🙌🏾✨

God said: “Pray for people” — and it became a movement.
Then He said: “Clothe them in power.”
Now we move with purpose, protection, and prayer — daily.

In an industry that takes so much,
God fills us up.
With love. With wisdom.
With fresh fire.

This isn’t just a hoodie.
It’s a covering. A reminder. A statement of faith.

Let your clothing speak.
Let your fire burn.
Let your prayers rise.

DM to make your order!

✨Most of what we see online is celebration—wins, smiles, and curated moments. But many of us walk through valleys, carrying silent battles no one sees.✨

In my world — media, leadership, and creative purpose — it’s beautiful but can also lead to burnout. So many people need a safe space… someone to confide in, someone who won’t let them down.🙏🏾

🪔That’s why I was divinely led to start Fresh Fire Anointing Prayers.
It’s not about me — I’m just the vessel.
It’s about Jesus — the One who never fails: the One who hears every tear and every word we don’t even know how to say.

Already, I’ve received heartfelt prayer requests and beautiful feedback from those who feel heard, covered, and spiritually held.❤️

If you need prayer, you’re not alone.
Submit your prayer request via the link or QR code.
You’ll be added to the #FreshFireAnointingPrayers Chain — because God moves when two or more agree in faith.🛐

Spent an interesting afternoon at the @tms_dubai hosted inclusion conference- From Barriers to Bridges
There were many takeaways- the keynote by @drbradjohnson with the emphasis on relationships, @bernabouwer significance of one million seconds, @drfunkeba effective techniques for wellbeing @drnadiraalborno professional development and action research emphasis…but the biggest takeaway for me was @louiseinclusion call to action: why call it a behavior policy? Rename it a Relationship policy! Full marks my friend!
Congratulations to @ambika.gulati and team @tms_dubai for a meaningful conference.
A quick checkin with our @instagram family - do you prefer the term Relationship Policy over Behavior policy

For nearly 3 years, I’ve worked with
GEMS Education school’s on environmental initiatives, helping to shape meaningful change across their community. Yesterday’s meeting at their HQ began as a discussion about sustainability but it turned into something far more profound.

Through the course of the afternoon, by chance, I met Dr Funke, her energy, focus, and passion for championing mental health and inclusion deeply resonated with me.

People often see my challenges - rowing 5,000km across the Atlantic, navigating the Arctic, running Marathon Des Sables, as purely physical feats. And yes, they are among the most demanding expeditions on the planet. But the true test lies beneath the surface and usually hidden from public view: the mental battle.

Surviving storms that threaten to break you, enduring the isolation of being confined to a space smaller than the inside of a car for weeks on end - with nowhere to escape, no reprieve. The relentless grind of years of intricate planning, the constant push to secure funding, and the unyielding pressure of knowing that failure simply isn’t an option.

These moments demand resilience that reaches far beyond physical strength, they require an unshakable mental fortitude. I’ve tasted success through relentless effort and dedication, but I also know what it’s like to struggle, to face failure, and to feel surrounded by darkness with no clear way out. These lows have shaped me as much as the highs, frequently reminding me of the resilience it takes to keep moving forward.

Mental well-being and inclusion are deeply intertwined with creating opportunities for people to thrive. Meeting Dr. Funke reaffirmed that mental health is not a side note -it’s the foundation of every success story.

Together, we have the power to break barriers, to create opportunities, and to inspire a generation that dares to dream without limits. This is not just a call to action -it’s a call to transform lives, starting with our
own and extending to every life we touch.
