I come from a family that values learning, discipline, and hard work, and we continue to reap the rewards of those investments. Education has opened doors for my family and for many of the students I have had the privilege to teach over the years.
People often ask about my parenting style. I simply smile and say this: I don’t play when it comes to raising children. Children need love, structure, accountability, and consistent expectations. My home was not run by opinion polls. If democracy failed, the parent had the final say.
Parenting is not about being popular; it is about preparing children to become responsible, independent, and productive adults. Looking back, I would not trade that approach for anything.
