“I’m Rafferty O’Meara. I’m with the ExorSquad. I’m a spirit extraction expert, and I’m going to get you out of here.”
👻 As a proud member of the Exorsquad fan club, I have to say that this one is probably the most atmospheric and romantic one 💚
The pace is interesting as it is evidently measured (hello Halloween deadline 💀) but also mellow and tender.
Because there is so much tenderness indeed in this blooming love, in Raff’s relationships to ghosts and humans alike ✨
Eric’s character is so very moving, I loved the dynamics between Raff and him but also how he envisioned the world before…and after.
There is a new type of Ont element, which is so fresh as well! And what a treat to read Irish ☘️ (although now it looks like I’m pretending to be Irish myself when I speak English 🌛💚🤪)

It is softness and starlight, softness and wonder, softness and love. It is All Star and Mr Brightside.
Thank you so much for your trust @sarahmarshauthor

💚Haunting #439: Ardruin Castle

Number of ghosts: It’s anyone’s guess, really

Location: The village of Ballycorven in West Kerry, Ireland

History: Long and bloody. Full of fire, covert poisonings, plague, and various mysterious deaths since its construction in 1219.

Wanted: Get the ghosts under control by October 31st for the grand opening of Céad Míle Fáilte Medieval Dining Experience inside the renovated castle, “Where the Mead Flows, the Bards Roar, and Everyone’s a Lord (for the Evening).”

The Expert: Rafferty O’Meara, formerly Kerry hurling’s star midfielder

The Complication: Eric James Crawford. Ghost, American, tourist. Chaotic Good Boy who’s about to rearrange Raff’s world as they try to figure out just how Eric really died.

👻 The ExorSquad Series is a collection of standalone MM romcoms centred around the unfortunate employees of ExorSquad Ltd, the UK’s shadiest ghost-busting operation. Expect supernatural shenanigans, things that go bump in the night, sizzling encounters, and hard-won happy-ever-afters.

I just know that when Azriels shadows get annoyed or frustrated with him they run to Gwyn. In Azriels bonus chapter, his shadows had calmed and seemed content to lounge on Azriels shoulders and watch as Gwyn tried cutting the ribbon.

Here’s one of Azriel’s shadows coming to hangout with Gwyn while she trains.

@drigomez thank you for this beautiful artwork of Gwyn and one of the shadows. In my head I always imagined Azriel’s shadows as these shadowy black cats. I absolutely loved how you drew this one shadow!

@drigomez thank you for always being so kind and wonderful to work with! Your artwork always looks so lovely 🩵🫶🏻🩵

⏩ Blurb: Members of the ancient House Rosebourne have a strange gift born of a fairy ancestor: the ability to infuse fragrance with magic capable of manipulating mind, body, and emotion. When a shocking murder leaves the kingdom of Albion vulnerable to a coup, royal spymaster Hugh Thornton seeks the one person who can help: Viola Lockhart, the last living Rosebourne and secret heir to a fraught legacy. Livid at the silver-eyed aristocrat who had her thrown in jail to force her compliance,Viola nevertheless comes to an agreement with him. In exchange for crafting Immortal Rose, the singular perfume capable of saving Albion, illegitimate Viola can seize the life—and fortune—that should have been hers. As Hugh and Viola race to find the perfume’s lost fairy ingredient, hidden deep in Albion’s dark underbelly, neither can deny the scorching attraction building between them—especially as the attempts on Viola’s life grow increasingly brazen. But a terrible truth lurks in the heart notes of their kingdom—and while every bargain has a cost,Immortal Rose may demand more than Hugh and Viola can ever pay.

I’m convincing you to read a series each week based on the artwork of the MMC. This week is Lucien Vanserra from the A Court of Thorns & Roses series.

This week we were gifted a sneak peak quote from Lucien from the upcoming release, A Court of Splintered Harmony (I find this title unfortunate.) And I wanted to focus on Lucien, our sweet angel baby. Lucien is so underrated! He is the comic relief of the series. He’s the chameleon that can fit in anywhere with anyone. He has an incredibly tragic backstory and he deserves some real happiness - whether that is with or without his fated mate, Elain.

Of course there are so many theories out there of not only what will happen in the series, but with Lucien, Elain, Azriel’s personal journeys. And I’m finding that I honestly don’t care who any of them end up with! I just want Lucien to have a good life. Plus, he’s a redhead (!!) with long hair (!!) which are personal weaknesses of mine.

Are you a fan of Lucien like I am?

𝕋 𝕙 𝕖 𝔹 𝕠 𝕪 𝕀 𝕃 𝕠 𝕧 𝕖

♥️ Happy Tuesday lovelies! What are you currently reading? I have almost finished this wonderful YA historical novel that was shortlisted for the 2026 Carnegie medal for writing and the 2026 YA Book Prize, amongst others. And I can see why! It is a heart-wrenching, beautiful love story that follows two soldiers during the First World War, set in the summer of 1916 as the Battle of the Somme approaches. I do love historical novels and I’m really enjoying this one. The love story between Stephen and Danny is so tenderly written against the backdrop of the harsh brutalities of the First World War. There are so many beautiful moments between the two and the camaraderie between all the soldiers in the field is so heart-warming even though you can feel the tension building as the story progresses. Here’s the synopsis:

♥️ At just nineteen, Stephen has already survived a year at the front. Now he is returning to the trenches to lead a platoon, despite his wounds. Broken-hearted from the loss of his first love, Stephen wonders what he’s fighting for. Then he meets Private Danny McCormick, a smart, talented young recruit. From their first meeting, there’s something undeniable between them – something forbidden by both society and the army. Determined to protect Danny, Stephen must face down the prejudices and ignorance of his superiors as well as the onslaught of German shells and sniper fire.
As the summer of 1916 ticks down to one big push on the Somme, can Stephen and Danny stay together – and will their love save them – or condemn them?

Let me know if you’ve read this one? What did you think?
