¡DEADLINE EXTENDED!

Do you have pieces that speak to liberation, celebration, Black joy, visionary inspiration, resistance?

Want to be part of a Juneteenth-themed exhibition?

@Collectiv.EQ, @SeattleHoodoo and @Altared.Roots are working together to curate an exhibition as a celebration of Juneteenth and a meditation on those themes. This will include static displays of artworks in gallery spaces at Equinox Artist Studios, as well as dynamic showcase opportunities including live performance, media, food vendors, etc.

The original deadline was Monday, May 25th, but we are extending that to June 1 to allow for more participation. Please share this with any Black Seattle-area artists you know who might be interested in joining us. DM @altared.roots on IG or email altared.roots@gmail.com with images and descriptions of your work.

Our major showcases will be on June 13th as a part of @equinoxstudiosseattle 2nd Saturday Open Studios (part of the @GeorgetownArtAttack ) and June 19th for a Juneteenth Community Celebration presented by the Seattle Hoodoo Society, hosted by Collectiv.EQ. We want to bring Black life, joy, love, and art to the block; and we hope you will join us in that effort.

Please let us know if you have any questions, and I look forward to your entries!

Thank you!

🎉SEATTLE🎉 Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.
January 16th was a powerful reminder of what happens when community, music, and intention align.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, brought energy, shared moments, and trusted the vision. The room was full, the vibes were real, and the night moved exactly how it was meant to. This was a successful night by every measure that matters.

Deep appreciation to @wseattle for providing the space and trusting Legacy Nights to create something special within it. And immense respect to @tallhomeyvita and @somethingabouterika for setting the tone and carrying the night with precision and soul — WE 🖤 YOU.

This is only the beginning. We’ll see you again next month — same intention, elevated execution, and even more to celebrate.

Legacy is built together.

OUR HIDDEN GEMS 4/10 @capitolhillartwalk was a smash hit!

We are sending a massive thank you to @ebandfl0w & @spectrum.of_love for joining our art show + a roaring round of applause for @zionthelixn / @zionseye, our very own curatorial/social media intern & resident artist for making his curatorial and art walk debut right here in Blue Cone. This took lots of hard work & Zion, we are so wildly proud of what you executed. Another round of thank yous to Blue Cone’s facilities manager @jacquestioneer for crew organization + art installation, to @drink_science for the incredible bar service, & to @alisandra.baccus for the extra support beautifying our space. Big love to our resident artists @amaiarte_, @artbreakerbt, @japeramakesthings for bringing great art and energy into the space. And lastly, Blue Cone is NOTHING without our community. To everyone who showed up, it meant the absolute world to host you in studio. We’ll catch y’all at part II of HIDDEN GEMS next month! 💙💙💙
