I am now a athlete ambassador for @drinknowhey

This is a brand I have been using consistently for a while now. It’s been great for on the go, whether that’s taking it into school or the gym. It’s dairy free and whey free making it perfect for Somone like me with spot prone skin. It’s different to every other protein drink on the market I have tried being light on the stomach and refreshing.

Bridgnorth 10k First Lady 🥇

My race report;

I actually normally avoid the Bridgnorth 10K because I know just how tough the course is, living locally and running the hills around Bridgnorth regularly. I only decided quite last minute to enter when I saw there were around 25 places left, so it wasn’t something I’d been planning for a long time!

I’m still trying to find my feet with racing again after having Harrison in January, and this was my third race back after the Burwarton 10K and Worcester Half Marathon. I’m trying to be brave, get myself back out there and rebuild my confidence as a runner. I’ve always preferred racing half marathons to 10Ks, so I knew this would be a tough challenge.

Being a mum has definitely changed how I prepare for races. After a night of broken sleep and wake-ups with Harrison, you can’t always arrive feeling fresh or having had the ideal preparation. I’m also learning not to compare myself too much with the runner I was before having a baby. It’s easy to look at old times and paces, but I’m at a different stage of life now, and I’m learning what my body is capable of again.

There’s also an added pressure when you’re racing in your hometown and people know you. I think there’s an expectation that you’ll do well or be up there fighting for the win, but the reality is I had no idea what my fitness would be like on the day or how the race would unfold.

One of the best parts of the race was the incredible support from the marshals and everyone cheering along the course. I really felt the love out there, and it gave me such a boost, especially on the tougher sections. It was lovely to feel that support in my hometown, and I’m so grateful to everyone who came out to cheer and helped make the event what it was.

To come away with the win and a new ladies’ course record, just eight months after having Harrison, is something I’m really pleased with. It’s given me a real confidence boost and reminded me why I love running. I’m just taking things race by race at the moment and enjoying finding my way back into it!

@drinknowhey thanks for supporting me with protein water

Big thanks to @storm_performance_centre for hosting a great event 👊
