The Red River Zine: Vol. 3 has arrived! Found at 30+ locations around Austin 🗞️🌆

Our latest FREE print zine digs even deeper into the people + places + and beautifully chaotic history that made Red River what it is today!

Yup, these are the stories you definitely won’t find in any Austin travel guide:

🖤 The history of 705 Red River - from a Black-owned blacksmith shop in 1867 to the building that now houses @elysiumaustintx

🌊 Richard Whymark revisits the devastating 1915 Waller Creek flood that tore through Red River

🎸 Jake Garcia (!!!), owner-operator of @the13thflooraustin + member of @theblackangels band + co-founder of @levitation festival, talks Texas garage rock, Room 710, Beerland & carrying Red River’s music history forward

📰 Wendy WWAD takes us back to Cave Club, Room 710, Beerland, Handsome Joel + the iconic DIY fan-zine Rank & Revue

This zine is part of our ongoing Cultural Currents project to document, preserve + celebrate the people and stories that built this historic district! Created in support thanks to our friends at @downtownaustin & @preservationaustin

Now go get lost in some Austin history 😵‍💫🖤
